The Walker-quiet-flow-ss-muffler-22266 oval shape keeps the muffler tucked in close to the scoot. The 1.5" inlet and outlet is sufficient for over a 1000cc's of displacement. I left mine natural SS color but it could be painted. I wrapped a stainless band around it just like the original pipe. The muffler itself is smaller than many mufflers I see on scoots, especially those 2T 'pregnant with twins looking' expansion chamber pipes. Besides, it was cheap at under $40.

I did find the following on Amazon: www.amazon.com/dp/B000C936WIThat, I think I can work with. Leaves room for letters or numbers (even graphics) mod on the side. Looks like 2&1/2" in/out. Much potential!! Did you happen to notice the dimensions. It's a hoss. 36 x 9.5 x 9.5 inches If you could find something in that line with a 1" inlet/outlet, maybe it would be better to scale with the scooter. Seriously meant no offense with the not attractive comment. I was just thinking it's not the "sporty" style that I figured one would be looking for after having graphics and lighting done. I think it's a good clean install and I like the idea. Kinda wanna try it myself one day. Pic of Frankenmech's setup below.

Hmm, interesting. Now that I'm seeing it on his build, that doesn't look as tacky as I thought it would. Could absolutely do something on the sides with a graphics mod. 1.5" inlet and outlet would make it much easier to fabricate as well. I'm gonna steal that picture and forward it up to Shawn. Thank you.

No offense taken. IMO the rolled end cap seams make it look tacky, like a car muffler. If someone could cut those off and weld that seam and grind it smooth...
I used a piece of chrome-moly tubing to make the bushing between the muffler inlet and the exhaust pipe. The clamps look clunky also. They are stainless steel clamps which were hard to find, Speedway Motors had them. That inlet joint could also be welded.

I'm sure the boys could make it work. The body shop guys do motorcycle customization's and fabrication mods all the time. They've done original bikes and sell them with an MSO originating from the shop. I wouldn't think a simple muffler hack will be much trouble at all. Paint it up nice, it could be made to look like part of the scooter. Should be able to do an easy 2 tone overcoat/undercoat job with flat VHT. I'm thinking Mario Kart fonts now with Toadette's hat/head. Gonna have to run it by my kid and let her photoshop something in 2 tone.

Don't buy GY6 stuff for this scoot. The GY6 150 trans is different than the 139QMB, that gets called a GY6 50.

That's what I thought, but figured I better ask first just to be sure, thanks.

i run that p.g drive face and a ncy golden pulley variator with the malossi backplate from scooterswapshop. but the p.g drive face is awesome, super light. i think ncy makes a complete tranny kit for the qmb though. i have a malossi delta clutch but been sick and havnt installed it yet. scooterpartsco.com has the delta clutch with wing bell for $89. has white clutch spring but no contra. the malossi torque controller is $8 there too. scootertunning.ca has the polini 2g evo3 clutch, i like it but had already ordred the delta

It's so damn hard to decide, I tell ya what!! For sure though, I know I'm going with the P.G. drive face. Leaning to Malossi and Polini for everything else because of their proven performance, but haven't quite locked in yet on how I want it set up. Wondering if I should do exhaust mod ALA FrankenMech first to better match up CVT. Still gonna do some dyno runs to polish it all off, but if I can, I'd like to avoid as many runs as possible so I'm not taking up Shawn's time, and not spending more then I want. I still have another scooter project I want to get to, plus finalize my Hawkeye's Spree with a ported Tazland BBK and ported Kitaco intake. Have a 17mm Polini carb on order to replace the 21mm Polini I have now, so that one will be for sale soon. Haven't decided how much I'll sell it for, but I will offer it up here when I do.

doing the exhaust mods and then tuning the cvt to them before the dyno run is a good idea. some people say exhaust changes dont do much for these engines but ive played around with different exhaust and noticed changes in where in the powerband it makes peak power.

Eclark, you are the man! I hope your kids know how lucky they are and don't take it for granted! I wish I had the chance to have that childhood. It's likely the reason i am so In love with my 3 year old and spoil the crap out of her. It really must excite your kids when you do stuff on there scoots I understand the feeling you get from someone's excitement and having made or did something for them. I thrive off that. Especially when it's our kids. It definitely keeps you going... AWESOME DAD AWARD I know all you other awesome dads are out there, we just need to remind those dads they are awesome! gregg, I think you deserve an Awesome Dad Award too... having 4 daughters says it all!

Finally got around to it the other day to change out that pilot for a smaller one and adjust her air/fuel & fast idle settings. Also swapped out to the Racing CDI I got from scrappydogs's a while back. I got that dialed in so good, a split second tap of the starter button and she pops right off. Screams off the line. Man, I tell ya, if it didn't look so embarrasing, I'd LOVE to fly around with just the engine setup on her scoot. She REALLY REALLY is interested in the whole muffler swap ala frankenmech. All kinds of ideas how to 2 tone paint it.So for now it's in the planning and design phase in photoshop by my daughter before I take it up to Shawn's team to be built.
But I noticed another issue has come up, or rather needs addressed. She isn't strong enough or heavy enough to push that center stand in place and has to use the side kick stand, which, I think is why I've seen too many issues with her having it fall down while she is at school, or where ever. Anybody have a solution for this? I don't need to have the threat of drops being higher now that the graphics are applied.
