Is there a center stand spring? Can you get a stronger or lighter one maybe? To change how much effort it takes to set it.
I think with some practice she can do the center stand. I've seen some pretty small folks on scooters, some who couldn't weigh much more than 100lbs. You just gotta put your weight into it!

She's not well coordinated as it is. What seems easy for us is quite hard for her.

Maybe some supervised practice with the stand would help. Be there to catch her or the scoot and to show/tell here how to do it right. Grab the luggage rack, make sure you're in a stable position, and basically stand on the center stand till it's up. If it's hard for her to hold the scooter up while getting off of it, put the kickstand down first and dismount. Then put it on the center stand.
If all else fails, perhaps a kickstand puck could help. The larger footrpint of those are good if you park on a soft surface. Not sure that it will be of much assistance on hard surfaces. You can also carry a metal plate of some sort to put under the stand for soft surfaces. Maybe evaluate the height of the stand. You can cut a piece out and weld it back together to make the scoot lean more or weld in a piece of tubing to make it lean less if you think either of those is an issue. You could also look for a lever setup with a parking brake for the rear. Unfortunately, most scoots don't have them. The only small scoots I own with them are Vento Tritons, but I'm sure others have them. Basically just a lever with a button that you can press in to lock the brake.

I'm thinking I just need to install a new side kick stand to it. It's pretty flimsy when it's down. The blue one isn't like that. Might just need tightened or something. Maybe even hammered down a little flatter. I was checking it out last night and noticed that when it's down, only a small portion of the foot is actually touching the ground, the angle is way off... damn cheap Chinese junk anyway.

I've found with center stands its all a balancing act. The length and angle all affect how they work. My 300lb. plus Vespa goes up smoother then my 181lb pink scoot. I'm sure with some work lengthening and bending you can make it better.

My jog has an extension That comes off the stand and gives it a little more leverage. It comes off at about a 90 degree angle from the stand and blocks the kick-start when it's up (kind of a pain). It makes it a little easier for my 100lb wife to put it on, but she still needs practice with it. The buzzeti side stand for the pre-bug Zuma bolts to the stock tab, which is a flat tab that's even when the floor board. It would probably be easy to adapt to most scooters. www.scooter-center.com/en/product/BU8582/Side+stand+BUZZETTI+MBK+Booster+Yamaha+BWS+black?meta=

So my solution as a parent, is going to be to have her take an athletic enhancement course for her senior year next year. I figure what she needs is some good strength training and putting up that kick stand will one day, seem like wimp work. She still has a hard time with can openers, afraid to use certain muscles. I think strength conditioning will be a huge confidence booster to help her skinny ass get that damn thing up on the middle stand.

It took me over 2 years to be able to put my scooter up on the stand! I would literally wait for hubby to get home or ask my neighbor! Finally this year, after doing work on the scooter, I decided I just wanted to figure it out. Mind you, where my scooter goes up ,, isn't on any concrete/pavement so it does get difficult. I cheated with a small hill lol,but then the scooter is kind of tipping backwards. I am just over 100 lbs, and I CAN do it, but like you say some more strength, I would probably be able to do no problem without cheating. Would a softer spring be okay to Suggest? that's something I thought about but didn't bother.

Quick update. Did just a little more customizing to her bike yesterday. Added white hand guards with built in LED's

Those hand guards look good. Will work well, and make her more visible too. Win, win. How is she getting on with the scooter now?

The hand guards look good, I assume they could be wired as turnsignals.

Yes, I was considering wiring them as turn signals, but decided I wanted her extended indicator to be visible at all times, not just turning. Doing so is pretty easy for the most part. Had a hard time finding one with amber bulbs instead of white. On my Sprees, I actually painted the LED'S with some stain glass paint from Hobby Lobby®☺™. Since Iowa permits only yellow or orange, figured matching them to the underglow color of orange that she already uses made the most sense. She absolutely loves them.
P.S., also ditched the mp3 player mirrors and replaced them with stock mirrors on an extender. Can see very well from both sides with extenders. She hardly ever used the music. Her brother does all the time, just not her thing.

Been about 5 years, figured I'd pop in and give an update of what became of the scooter. Kayla finally ended up outgrowing it and moved on to a 3 wheeler. She never could get the damn center kick stand up right and dumped it a couple times because of that. Other than that, she always rode it very slowly and took good care of it. I sold it off locally just this last year for first $500 takes, I let people have free rides on it to test it themselves and see the performance difference .vs a regular scooter. Got a guy who bought it for the engine upgrades, plastics were kind of shit after all these years, so I figured it was fair for a 2015 TaoTao. What she rides around on now, is an Icebear Q6 with a BBK and a huge ass trunk.

Hi there, good to hear back from people who not been on in a while how it's going. Glad to see your daughter is still on scooters. Waiting for my youngest daughter's 2 girls to get a bit older but have a few years yet being only 2 and 6 lol. Wish they sold that model here in Wales.
