Yes I will be taking the engine out and for once I can rebuild at my own pace, the cylinder kit and exhaust arrived today ,looks to be of good quality and finish but the base gasket impedes the ports I plan to cut a new one from gasket paper which I will have to source.I am waiting for a little end bearing and crankseals to arrive.I have new studs on hand and nuts for them but my old studs are very corroded and the nuts seem to be just mushy.Do I need to find a better quality nut,and if so any ideas on what to look for.I will try to photo my build as I go. Geoff did you end up going with the naraku kit ? i have just passed 320 miles on mine now in a week and a half i love it just a shame the rest of my bike is not as good as the kit lol

Torque for the yamaha zuma and vino were 11 psi. Was the bases gasket to thick or thin . Or were the transfer port not right

The base gasket overlaps the transfer ports a couple of mm either side should I just fit with sealant and trim them back or does it not matter? and I was trying to talk about the exhaust nuts,I have all the torque settings. And while I think ?its a 2 ring piston and both appear the same but in the ring packet there is a strange thin flat ring that I do not know what it is for.

Trim them back so the transfer ports flow easily . And then seal it up If it is just a ring like the thickness of a wedding band that is for a exhaust pipe gasket most likely. I prefer studs for the exhaust bolts .9 m .kg or 7 foot lbs per the european jog service manual www.motorscooterguide.net/Manuals/Yamaha_CS50_Service_Manual.pdf

I don't know anyone who has fitted them. Never heard it being a problem.

Plus gas is really good for freeing rusty fasteners.

Yes the WD40 did the trick one stud came out with mole grips the second snapped at the nut but I was able to to remove the remnants which the grips ,you will see in the picture the restrictor removed which was a PITA it has burned every dremel bit I used to own and several hours of filing to get rid of the weld. The new studs are in and a test fit of the exhaust shows it will work but there is still tension between the head and fitting bolts,is this normal or am I missing something??.the new exhaust must have filings and dust inside it now, should I flush it with water from the hose pipe or blow with compressed air??. How far out is it from fitting? If the holes line up, could you space it with washers. Some restrictions are a pain to remove. Pedparts charge £8. On some pipes it's worth getting them to do it.I The sports pipes just tend to have a couple of welds. Not to hard to remove.
