"Usual out of the box statement",,Why must we use an OEM YAMAHA oil seal??Seal should have an embossed OD,ID,and Thickness..Bet there is an aftermarket fork seal of the right size out there in stock!

I'm not worried about the rear seals. No plans to take the brakes apart again immediately, but I will do the rear seals sometime after they show up.
The stock bleeder valves leaked too, even closed. I ended up putting teflon tape on the threads. That did it. Can't say it's ideal, but I left room from the end of the threads and it worked. Not the greatest lever feel ATM because the right side did still pull in a little air when open, but close enough and I'm hoping the bungee chord trick finishes them off.
Lubed the pivot pins in the levers and now I'm gonna get that brake vid finished.

It’s a good one I made it through. 👍 Thought it was a good use of the old brake splitter bracket. 👍 Did you ever think of just running twin brake lines from the master, as opposed to the three line set-up? Braided lines always look so much sleeker than just the thick rubber ones. 👌

Did you ever think of just running twin brake lines from the master, as opposed to the three line set-up? Honestly, I just thought of doing whatever the TMAX brake hose kit allowed, which was the split setup. It seems like most people that eliminate the splitter say it's easier to bleed without it, but this isn't a race bike that comes apart that regularly so if it does take an overnight session of strapping the lever to the bar to get the stiffest feel it's fine with me. Some say it improves performance, but others say they couldn't tell the difference. I can't say that I am worried about it stopping any harder. With the stock setup it was fine, and sintered pads made a little difference. The Malossi brakes upgrades aren't really because I'm looking for more braking. Mostly just wanted something that looked different for disc and to never replace hoses again. It's got enough front brake for anything that I've done and I've accidentally locked up the rear more than once. Even when I cam up on a corner at ~100 and realized that was way too fast, I was more concerned with grabbing too much in a panic than not having good enough brakes. Rider skill would likely improve my braking much more than any mod when I really need to stop quickly.

Just fired up the TMAX for about 30 seconds. It's a long way from done, but it feels good to hear it purr after so long. Only maintenance tasks left are synching the throttle bodies, setting idle and adjusting the throttle free play. It's still naked though.
I may see if I can figure out a better connection option for my 12V outlets in the glove boxes before it all goes together. They are a nightmare to reach and the quick disconnects are not secure enough. My dual headlight mod also works and doesn't work. Something is loose there, but it's 10lbs crammed into a 5lb bag so it's tough to find a spot for relays and connections. That stuff won't be filmed, so maybe I can actually enjoy working on it for a minute with some music playing instead of a camera rolling.

Someone commented on that vid with 76k on their TMAX and low compression on one cylinder. A head gasket is suspected. Shop gave an estimate of $5,000 for repair. This is where the complicated layout ruins the TMAX. It seems to me that you either DIY if there is major work needed or replace the bike. I could get a whole TMAX with relatively low miles used for what that estimate is or less, though there aren't tons of them around so it may take a bit or require travel.
I guess it's that way with lots of bikes. Smaller scale, but it wouldn't be that hard to essentially total a used Chinese scooter with any major engine work performed at a shop.

It's shocking. But when you look at how much you had to do just to get access to the top end. It's understandable.
