Sneaking video uploads in at 1am? You need to take T2 out for a pleasure cruise. No agenda just to cruise around your ‘hood. It tends to end up like that. I get it done and uploaded early and then YT takes hours to process the HD version. T2 is loaded in the back of the truck, ready to go to OC and meet up with a friend for the car show today.

The mud guard probably cracked because someone had previously left the spacers out.😞 The lathe saves the day again. I love how easy traditional forks are to change the oil. No special tools needed.

Yamaha is at it again. My rear caliper seals were estimated to ship in 2-3 days. Then Oct 27. Now they say Nov 10.

Yeah, but what's more important than scooter parts? Let's get our priorities straight.

I got caught up to where I am with video editing so I did the rear brake system yesterday. Malossi pads, new Yamaha support pads, stainless hoses and fresh fluid. Caliper/piston seals are still some time away so they'll have to be done at a later date. Only took me a whole day to do and film a 2hr job and now I've got 90 more video clips to add in. Editing has been slower than it should be, because I'm getting burnt out I guess. Within an hour or less of staring at the screen, I have to get up and go do something else for a bit quite often. Film/edit/repeat and barely ride or do anything else has been my whole year though. I can't wait to have something to ride regularly again.

Almost finished the brakes. Should have been finished, but something up front is leaking. I'm pulling a lot of air through the vacuum bleeder and losing vacuum. It loses vacuum even with the bleeders closed, but I can seal the vacuum setup with my thumb over the hose and it holds. I swapped out the hose to the bleeder, thinking it may not be tight enough, to no avail. I can hear a noise when it's pumped up, like a faint gurgle near the caliper. Can't pinpoint it, but since the bleeders are closed and it's losing pressure, the bleeder(s) can't be sealing.
I dug the stock bleeders out of the trash. Glad this didn't happen tomorrow or I would have taken them to the dump. Hoping that's all it is so I can finally be done with the brakes. So far 1hr50min of video, so it will definitely be over 2 hours. I grossly underestimated what keeping all of the brake stuff in 1 vid meant.
Oh, and Partzilla has contacted me 2 more times to move back the ETA on the rear caliper seals. Now it's Dec 27.

That parts delay is insane. I’d be livid. Imagine if it was your only way around or if you had a shop with that in as a paying customer. It’s crazy.

What can ya do? I guess I could trade it for the most popular big scoot (Suzuki Burgman) and hope it's better. I know other models from Yamaha are like this, because Ryan had orders that took half a year to arrive for his Zuma. Not sure if other brands are experiencing the same, but as discussed above on this page, it's happening with all sorts of things.

The complexity of the large scooters scares me from looking to longingly at them. I’d prefer the simplicity of a ‘71 Harley but even the parts for those are on back order I’m sure.

I’ve only worked on metric bikes and not a ton of them, but they’ve all been pretty complicated with larger stuff. It’s not exclusive to scooters. Our small rides are far superior in this aspect.
