I like the oddball stuff. The Yamaha morphious? Is really goofy looking but I've day on them and like them. The old Honda helix holds a special place for me also. I think if I was to buy a maxi scooter I would look for a used kymco. I think they made 500 and 750 scooters that I kinda liked. The 500 wasn't priced too bad new. I will admit the tmax has a sporty look to it

The warmer the weather the better fuel mileage my Burgman gets. I'm sure you can handle the heft much better than I can and you'll likely have to pick it up sooner or later.

Have you looked into any of the universal soft side panniers? May be a better fit?

Have you looked into any of the universal soft side panniers? May be a better fit? I have not. I've seen some racks to mount them, but haven't looked at universal. I'll look around. Thanks.

The prices are better than the whole rig for a top box. I wonder how much fun they are to deal with when you have a 1 piece seat that flips up? I'll have to look around and see if anyone else uses those on big scoots.

I'm a fan of the stripes. They add just enough color to break the wheel up. Looks good from my house.

the tmax is an awesome scoot/bike. i have test drove a couple of them, mainly the first gen and the 2016 model. i like the tmax over the burgmans because for one, im a yamaha guy, and two, i can flat foot it, while as the burgman i cant, the curse of short legs.
90gtvert you got a wicked good deal on that tmax too, since the cheapest ive found here in NB Canada was $4500 CAD. that was for an first year first gen model with over 80,000 kms. for one like yours id be looking at a $6000 to $7500 price tag.

I've been looking into service/maintenance and a holding tool is needed if you want to tighten the variator and driven pulley with a torque wrench. They cost over $100 with shipping from what I've seen. Luckily, a fellow that goes by the name of "bigwheelsturning" on MajestyUSA's TMAX board and YouTube was kind enough to provide a template for a homebrew tool. Here's the thread with the template from bigwheelsturning : www.majestyusa.com/forums/viewtopic.php?f=27&t=9371Here's his YouTube channel : www.youtube.com/user/bigwheelsturning/He put a scale on the template so you can be sure it's printed at the proper size. I ended up setting the width to 9.75" to get it to work for me. The hardware and a glue stick was exactly $20.00, but I did get a break on some of it since my father works at a hardware store. Exact list of items used : 1.5" Washer 4 of M8x1.25x35mm Bolts 4 of M8x1.25 Nylock Nuts 32 of M8 Washers 2 of M6x1.0x35mm Bolts 2 of M6x1.0 Nylock Nuts 18 of M6 Washers 3ft of 1/4" Thick by 1 1/4" Wide Steel Craft Glue Stick The template cut out and glued to the washer. Drilled the holes and filed to clean 'em out. Filing removed most of the paper and I scraped the rest off with a razor. Then it needed a handle. I cut the 3ft bar in half to make an 18" handle. I ground the end to match the shape of the washer and rounded the corners on the other end to make it more user friendly. Welded it together and stuck the bolts through just to make sure all was well before I moved on. 1 coat of primer and 3 coats of wheel paint. I doubt that it's necessary, but I switched washers around (they vary a bit in thickness) to get all stacks within a couple thousandths of each other. All hardware installed. Had to add the sticker so it matches the TMAX. Again, big thanks to "bigwheelsturning" for the template!

Very nice! Its always very satisfying when you manage to produce something yourself for cheap which you would otherwise had to spend too much money on.

That's brilliant, Brent! Love it that you made it yourself.
Heh, you should make more and sell them. Make some for Vespa too!
