Yeah that’s what I was leaning towards. Polished might be nice it I think they may be time consuming to do and maintain. I’ll get it dropped off in the next few days.

If your up for the work, make them shiny! Or get them chromed? How much would that cost?

I would love to get a set of Kymco wheels chromed!

According to everyone’s best friend, google - there is chrome powder coating. I think I’m unsure now... I’ll have to see something up close and see how it really looks. Geez thanks OG

There's also gold powder coating. Pricey I heard. I believe my powder coating guy said the copper and bronze are real popular right now. Here's the copper chrome youtu.be/vvlrGp6k6po 👍 The gold looks like it's actually dipped in 24 karat.

Don't jump on the chrome train. Here in Japan everybody chromes the shit out of their scoots, I can't see it anymore. Chrome wheels, chrome CVT covers, chrome exhausts, chrome handle bars, chrome side mirrors, chrome blinkers, chrome cup holder...and so on... That is why I try to avoid chrome at all costs. Look at my scoots and you'll see.
Stick with bronze other wise you'll have to redo the front wheel as well. More cost at the end.

Over the last few years there are some amazing colours coming in powder coat. Add hydro dipping to that and you can get just about any colour you could imagine.

I think after staring at my scoot for quite some time I’m just going to stick with the color the wheels currently are. I like the chrome/polished look but I’m not sure it’s right for my scoot.
I was looking to pickup a rear tire and have that mounted up when the wheel gets coated but it looks like the 140/60-13 Avon Viper Stryke I’m running is not in stock anywhere. It’s like it out of production. I’ll have to keep looking but I’m not sure it’s around anymore.
To the other guys with Aerox or the gyronetics 13” wheels, what size rear are you running?

I'm late to the convo, but if you ever decide to do chrome/polished you may be disappointed with powder coat. There's a lot of different stuff, but even in pics the difference is often clear between powder and chrome or polished. I have had ceramic coatings done on turbo piping and it seems similar to the chrome/polished powders. So dull next to chrome or polished. Chrome is significantly more expensive from my brief searches when I was considering getting my wheels done shiny. Polishing is a true exercise in patience. I got one side of one wheel stripped and sanded and ready to polish, but the other side had so much detail that I realized to do two wheels would take almost literally forever to do it right. If you are lucky enough that the wheels aren't porous and full of casting marks and imperfection like my Chinese junk, then it may not be so bad but any polishing operation takes a considerable amount of work to turn out well. Maybe it can be accelerated with a proper blast media? Once polished, they have to be maintained with polishing or they'll dull. I had polished Weld Drag Lites on my Mustang and it had to be done pretty regularly if I wanted to keep a bright shine. Maybe powder coating clear over them works well for ease of use. Be careful about any home spray on clears, because they can turn yellow and/or crack and get really ugly. Here are a couple of pics with multiple finishes from my car. The intake is polished aluminum. The valve covers are chrome. The headers and piping are polished ceramic. I think the newer polished coatings may outshine it, but I think you'll still spot the difference easily. Sorry it's late, but maybe still relevant to someone interested.

All attempts to source the 140 failed. I thought I found one shop that had it and I got a refund all ready. Apparently Avon is not making this size anymore. I guess I’ll have to go to a pizza cutter 130 width.
