Do they make a water pump that's all metal? This is all metal except for the pump impeller. They do make billet pumps but I don’t think that’s needed unless your turning some insane rpm, but then I think you’d just go with an electric pump. www.gforcemx.com/products/kbwp

I took the scoot for a quick lap nothing special. It surely needs some tweaking, clutch grabs too low. I need it around 8,500-9k it’s currently at 7-7,500. Carb is way rich, first video had the air box, second video I went back and just pulled it off so I could get moving. Yeah 30 in the neighborhood for a 4T might be an accomplishment but not for me. Only one quick full throttle blast towards the end of the second video. I’m hesitant before figuring out jetting. There is potential keeping it tame with a 21mm. More to come after I swap clutches, mine just seems to slip once the pipe hits.

Hard to tell from the video. Plus it snowed. But, how was your temps with just one radiator?

I think it only made it to 110. It’s cool out, it’s rich and I added some purple ice to the coolant. Once it’s tuned we’ll see what the temps are.

I spent the afternoon tuning and I still have more that needs to be done. I think I’ve gone through close to a dozen jetting combo’s and it’s still rich but at least it’ll rev out. I’m now using a Polini 3G clutch and it’s nice to just turn a screw to increase spring tension, but sucks to pull the cvt cover and clutch bell each time. Clutch still needs more tension, I’ll lean the jetting out some more. Currently using a open filter (I know) 50/98 W9 40* and it’s breaking up rich. I think I’ll end up close to my AC settings. Is the low cylinder temp making the jetting seem richer then what you’d expect with a hot AC cylinder? Or are the larger power just much more efficient at pulling the mixture in... I tried using the same jetting w/modified air box and it was much worse. I may revisit the air box. After swapping clutch and bells I found I was losing top speed from my TD bottoming our on my clutch, even using a shim. The Top Performance TD I picked up needs a much longer belt so that’s on the side burner for now. At least I made some progress with this. More to come For the record I only saw a max coolant temp of 112, and 160 CHT. youtu.be/CUwET1YrvSc

50pj and 98mj? I'd drop the pilot down probably 10-15 clicks. Seems reeeaally rich on pilot to me. try a 35 and use the airbox. Maybe lighter on the main too.

I was using a 40/88 with an air box on my AC cylinders and temps were perfect. My thinking tells me open filter needs more fuel so I went big. I think I’ll end up around 40-42/92-95. Tuning LC is stressful because you can easily seize it when temps look good and it feels good. EGT is ideal for tuning so you can easily tune to 950-1100 and be safe. Maybe I’ll pick one up.

Hopefully it’s just finding it’s level but I can back to this after it sat for a few minutes. I may need to setup the old oil tank as a coolant expansion bottle.

How is the EGT setup done? Koso/Stage6 makes one along with many others. eBay has a $40 cheapie. It’s a probe installed 200mm from the piston to measure exhaust temp. Keep it under the melting temperatures of aluminum and you should be good. Here is the eBay cheapie: rover.ebay.com/rover/0/0/0?mpre=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.ebay.com%2Fulk%2Fitm%2F233006271797I had the Stage6 on my RS50 if you find it in my videos. youtu.be/corGnTvHpXQ

If you need an EGT I still got the Stage6 one that spaz12 gave me which i won't be using. You cover shipping and it's yours. Just need to take a quick look later to make sure all parts are still there.

I got the EGT setup after work today. WFO is currently at 1050, not much other testing because the sky opened up and I was getting wet. I’ve got some Yamaha parts on order, one being a new air box so I can drill this one out to see if I get get the engine to breathe. It runs fantastic with just a sock filter, with my air box that has some 1/2” holes already it’s just not happy. RPMs are down, it’s not breathing well at all. I’d like to run an air box to keep noise down and help with fuel economy but if I have to ditch it, so be it. This weekend is supposed to be decent weather wise so I hope to get this girl dialed in.

AHHH!The TIG welder is in use!Is the Yam airbox like the Chinarelli?Have run an RM125/Mina splice with a stock airbox with big snorkel hole cut out and a few 3/4" holes...
