John thanks for making me pull off my air box to realize the carb connection is the bottle neck! I have this modified box that fits on my carb so I’ll give it a go but I think that’s what I need. As it is I’ve got almost a 1” snorkel opening and 4 - 1/2” holes. It’s nice to finally have decent welders to work with and plenty of gas cylinders to match. No splatter, no cleanup. Just a quick brush.

I have to do this same thing. I've got a 50mm silicone 90° bend waiting I just need to dremel out the box and get a new element.

Unless you have a tight radius 90 you may need to make an offset bracket to bolt it up. Here’s another view and my bracket.

You know when your scoot makes a sound like it just swallowed something. Yup it did. I think I found my difficulty tuning.

I found most of it. I guess I’ll be pulling and splitting it tonight to look for the rest. I gave the pipe a shake, sounds empty but I’ll still hose it out.

I found 99% of the reed. I think the rest is chopped up and thrown around the bearings. The crank feels slightly gritty so I’ll give it a bath tomorrow and see if that helps. Tomorrow is another day...

Maybe I should of left well enough alone... The crank still feels off after giving it a bath. The cylinder is scuffed all around the lower half. Decisions, decisions - put an AC cylinder on so I can go ride until I have funds to get another LC cylinder, wait and just do it right with crank and cylinder. Then my other options are run the 43mm crank from my spare motor but the cylinder is out of stock in LC or just go with stock stroke.

Wait a sec. are you saying that the carbon fiber reed damaged your cylinder and crank? People were always saying that carbon fiber reeds are better and safer. When they brake off they just get smashed and destroyed into little pieces and probably get burned or blown out through the system.

Can’t just give it a quick dingle ball hone and call it good enough? It worked wonders on my cylinder.

The CF reed little fibers are in the big end bearing and got squeezed between the piston and cylinder. I can feel that it’s there when turning it. Will it be fine and work itself out, maybe but it’s got only one way out. I could try a home and see how that does.

Or just go with the MHR77 big bore 👍 I'm sure you have 39.2mm stroke racing crank laying around.

I don’t think the MHR77 has been made for awhile. A quick search didn’t show anything for minarelli available. That would also require much more supporting parts I don’t have the funds for right now.
