AtariGuy once I save up some more $$ I think I am going to get a whole engine blasted before I set it up with the 70cc kit. I'm very impressed with the finish! Feel like I'm back to square one with the levers/controls again. After looking around on here I think I'm going to go with an Adelin master like 'O'Verse has, but now I'm unsure which to go for as I really don't want to wait ages only to have the wrong parts turn up again, just don't have the $$ to throw away on parts I don't need! I'd really like BWS/Zuma/Jog factory levers/master/controls etc but I am struggling to find them even. Edit: I've come to realise that I've been sent slightly different levers than what I ordered, compared to the pictures on AliExpress mine are a good 20mm longer at least. Terrible pic, but it's pretty obviously different/longer to me!

Been too long between updates! Nothing too exciting to post though, my shorter (hopefully) levers left China a few days ago so are at least on the way, dash went Hong Kong to Kuala Lumpur, fingers crossed next stop is NZ haha! Been mucking around with small bits and pieces, was going to do the switch wiring but have decided to wait until I've got the new dash just so I don't have to redo any of the wiring when it gets here. Took the seat mount bracket/hinge parts which looked like this on both sides: Added white vinegar Started bubbling pretty much instantly! Realized my container was way too small and swapped it out into a bigger one. Checked on it a few hours later: After less than 24 hours I ran the bits under the tap and gave them a wipe up with a rag, result! Ready for a quick scuff up and a coat of black paint

Now for some actual progress, sort of anyway. New levers came today, still a touch long but at least usable, really do want some BWS/Zuma/Jog 100 controls and levers though I think. Fitted the bars to the scoot, then fitted the levers to the bars Drilled out the adjuster thread on the rear to take a scooter style cable. Haven't got a throttle grip that plays nice with the Jog style controls (think there actually from a Kymco looking at the markings) So I tried out the Kitaco throttle and AliExpress switch Still undecided on them though, if I do run this switch I 100% will be running the lights through a relay and NOT running any decent current through the switch! Brake bled up nicely, lever has a nice feel to it etc too. Need to figure out a plan for combining early stage Gyro, late stage Gyro and custom wiring into a tidy cohesive loom!

Nothing much to report build wise, still just waiting on parts... ...But thanks to a bit of peer pressure from a few moped/scooter MC members I pick this up in the weekend... It's an early model Gyro X like mine, but someone dressed it up with an aftermarket Canopy kit, I'm told the roof and widescreen etc is included with it! Sounds like either the carb or fuel pump had issues, will see on Sunday.

The only thing missing is the paper holder. lol That front shield looks very milky. Can still through it? Or do you have an idea how to polish that?

I haven't seen it in person yet so I don't know just how yellow it is, a mate picked the Gyro up for me today and is storing it for me until the weekend when I can go grab it, it's a good 4 hour drive away again haha
I've had success doing plastic headlights with plastic polish on a low speed paint buffer in the past, will see just how bad it is when I pick it up and go from there.
Thinking it's about time to start building up the engine for my main Gyro, then this new one can have the later engine that I put in. Just need to track down a crank and a couple other parts, looks like Japan is about the only place I'm going to find a crank, might as well go for a stroker crank...

From what I can tell from the pics/vid I was sent, it's another early version (82-85?) Gyro X like my first one, but it's had almost all the stock body panels replaced with an aftermarket fibreglass Canopy conversion kit, can't wait to get my hands on it lol. Courier just dropped this off Now I think I can start making a bit of progress again!

Formed plexi canopies usually have a peel off protective film, thats likely the foggy look we are seeing..

Fingers crossed it's that simple, but that canopy could be almost 35 years old so I would guess any film is long gone by now! tsimi any chance you could translate this? My friend who picked the Gyro up for me just noticed it and we're wondering if it is to do with the body kit? RaizerIt says Auto Friend and obvious the phone number of that place. As you saw on google map it is a small bike shop. Maybe it came from there long time ago?
