Yeah it's the length I've been having issues with, I'm actually tempted to extend the ends of my bars 1/2" by welding on a section of tube on each side which would mean my current "shorty" levers would work fine.

Sounds like a cheaper alternative to buying more and more levers.

That Gyro guy has some mad fabrication skills. First he welds together a 3KJ horizontal engine with a Gyro engine. Then he changes the engine mounts to match the Prebug. Crazy stuff.

He could have kept the Minarell horizontal mounts and use the subframe for horizontal to Prebug.

Sounds like a cheaper alternative to buying more and more levers. Just managed to get out to the shed for a while, needed to make room for tomorrows haul. So much braking power it sweats fluid! Doesn't look too bad at first glance. Have to move half my palm off the end of the throttle tube to even grab that much lever. Only real issue I see with widening the bars is that there already pretty wide! Just Honda clearly never thought of running disc brakes etc on them! That Gyro guy has some mad fabrication skills. First he welds together a 3KJ horizontal engine with a Gyro engine. Then he changes the engine mounts to match the Prebug. Crazy stuff. And he's a genuinely nice guy to talk to as well. Even with a bit of a language barrier he's been super helpful with advice and tips on what works etc. Also I have just realized I have 21 days left to finish the Green one

He could have kept the Minarell horizontal mounts and use the subframe for horizontal to Prebug. Then he would have lost the pivot that the Gyro swingarm provides. As it is set up he can still lean it right over keeping both back wheels on the ground. Terrible pic, but this is the mounting arrangement for a Gyro swingarm Thats a later Canopy one on the left and the very earliest X model on the right.

That makes sense.

Almost 5 hour drive up country later Add on a 4 hour detour for lunch/just cause So yeah another 5 hours and I'll have it home! Also just got word of another one in very rough condition but we a fresh top end rebuild for cheap...

Also just got word of another one in very rough condition but we a fresh top end rebuild for cheap... You just can't stop now! 😄 I don't know if you could get a long enough BMX type stem. You could the use something like straight bars. Or motorcycle drag bars, which would give you room to mount everything more towards the centre.

There like Pokemon, you gotta catch them all! The only issue I can think of with changing to a different stem is that the park brake and ignition assembly mounts are part of the stock bars. Will see if I can find a way around that though. On the way home I stopped in and caught up with a mate of mine who happens to run an auto upholstery, he took one look at the grimy old grey seat and said he couldn't let that leave his shop...

After not even close to enough sleep I got the haul unloaded from the van Engine is clean, but missing the piston and cooling shrouds. Have decided 100% that the build is now going to be on this frame from this point. As much as I wanted to get stuck into it today I had to go get some work done. This evening I went out to tidy up the shed in preparation, but got distracted by swingarms lol Semi polished X arm that came with this Gyro and a very weathered Canopy one, figured I'd swap the Canopy shaft into the cleaned Gyro X swingarm as I much much prefer the Canopy mounting set up. So for anyone interested this is what's in a Gyro swingarms pivot mechanism Those black rubber bits are pretty much the springs that control the tilt The X swingarm looked almost new inside so I swapped the latch plate and bearing etc onto the Canopy tube, after giving it a fresh lick of paint Sealed back up, cleaned shock fitted and it's ready to hang under the new frame in the morning after I've washed it And made a start on pulling my late model engine back out, just the brake cables and 2 bolts to go Hopefully more progress tomorrow! Oh and anyone remember the extra wires coming from the stator on my new engine I was asking about a while ago? The new one has them too, they seem to head up to somewhere in the handlebar area so I'll try and finally figure out what they're actually for!

Busy day today, nearly completely stripped the new Gyro Hit it and my very grimy Canopy engine with a LOT of degreaser Added a steering stop for the Dio forks Yeah the weld is rough, got a bit tight with 2 pairs of vice grips holding it in place and the breeze blowing the argon didn't help much either! Went to work for a few hours, then fitted the swingarm then engine Got distracted and rebuilt the front shocks Routed the cables, did most of the engine end wiring, chucked a random Suzuki wheel at the front and it is almost ready to go!! Little bit of wiring, mounts needs to be made for the dash and speed sensor and a few other jobs to go. Should be able to squeeze a kill button in there to use as a starter!

Didn't get that much Gyro time today, did what I could though! It's now legal Mostly wired up Forgot to get a pic, but I've managed to get the Naraku CDI mounted, it's HUGE in comparison to the stock ones! And running!

Holy shit that's some nasty smoke build up. Didn't your parents teach you to start a 2T ouside and not inside a almost closed room? :-P

I think I may have got a bit of degreaser and water into the crankcase yesterday!! Took a minute to clear it's throat But it was at this point I gave up for the night due to the fumes!
