Ya... I'd probably buy one. The reason I don't have that exact gauge is I don't know how to mount it clean. Same here.

I thought about using abs plastic but it may bounce.

It's all on file now, will see if he's keen to cut a couple extras at some point.

Forgot to post this the other day, got my front wheel back from powder coat on Tuesday, looks awesome to me The photo doesn't do it justice, it's a metallic powder with a clear that's got metallic flecks in it over the top, pops in the sun! But I didn't want to risk scratching it fitting the tyre so I paid a bike shop extra to take care etc. They destroyed the powder coat right around one lip!! So now it's back at the powder coaters for another week

I thought powder coating is more durable than regular paint.

It is, but it's harder to repair if you do chip it. The story I'm told by the shop is that a stone got caught in there tyre machine and was dragged hard right around the rim chipping and cracking the coating the whole way around the lip. Think I would have been better off taking my time with levers and soap.

Yeah it was pretty bad! The coaters are super busy too, so hopefully I get it back before next weekend, there's a Moped NZ club ride coming through my home town next Saturday and I've set a goal of debuting the Gyro! Also about to start building up the 70cc engine, getting some cases bead blasted by a mate, going to use my latest generation Canopy cases with the crank from the X engine I got without a piston for now. Then the X engine can be tucked away until I manage to get my hands on a Yamaha 3KJ...

Next time try it your self. Leave the tire in the sun so its nice and warm and pliable, and get a couple of tire bars online. Use plenty of warm very-soapy water on the beads and rim as lube. Should work great. I just did one on my jog with the wheel still bolted to the motor!

I'll pre-appoligize if this post gets a bit scrambled, there's a couple different time frames going into it haha When I posted the pic with the lights lurking I was facing a self imposed embargo on posting updates, there is a big club ride happening this coming weekend that I think I mentioned so I decided I wasn't going to post anything until I made an appearance there, so as long as Kicker or Lum don't go cross posting this I think I can share it here lol So going back to the issue with the forks not clearing the plastics, the way I saw it I had 2 options which were A: go back to a stock leading link fork with drum brake etc and save the AF35 set up for a future build. Or B: man up and chop up some rather expensive plastics with an equally expensive paintjob on them! We all know A was never really an option right? So once I had put it off as long as I could and all the wiring, controls, cables etc were tucked in and zip tied in place etc and I ran out of things to do I had to man up... *Gulp* Copied the cut onto card so I had a template for the other side and cut that too Paint hasn't stuck to the plastic though!!! Will have to repaint it in the near future

Thats the damage to the powder I was talking about, the shop got it redone for me, replaced the new bearings I'd fitted and then fitted the tyre by hand and didn't charge a cent so I'm not holding any ill will toward them as it was an honest mistake. Lighter colour, but I still dig it! The gearbox/diff in these takes 400ml of 10w30 oil, I drained about 120ml of this out Filled it with fresh oil, but I consider it to be a flush, will change it again fairly soon!
