The only other hitch is what size wrist pin do your scoots have? Stock is 10mm pin, but there is 12mm pin cranks available out of Japan inc a 41.3mm stroker option Think there is also a factory 12mm crank that was used in really late model Canopys, $$$ for it from Honda though.

Yeah you need a 12mm rod small end (17mm actual diameter)... but then 17hp(potentially). So theres that.

After 2004 most speedfights had an electric Oil Pump. so make sure you get the right one if ordering. Still a lot of early ones around. Should be a good supply still if it works.

The only other hitch is what size wrist pin do your scoots have? The Gyro's 2T's were all 10mm. From my measurements with Dio's...only older AF16's had 10mm. The Asian AF18 engines look to be all 12mm, which is why Japan builders make the switch. (more cylinders available) A few have said that some case mods must be done. For me, opening up the cylinder housing in the case...no big issues. Altering bearing mounts or shims to get proper index...not so good. I like plug and play.

So I had an order from ScooterTuning.CA arrive the day after boxing day Malossi Multivar, Stage6 torque control clutch with matching bell and some tuning rollers etc, was amazed at how fast it all got here! This arvo I stripped the side of the engine again, real pain to tune the CVT on these things since it needs to be jacked up and have all the fuel lines and the brake cable etc all removed to access the variator. Spot the difference Set it up with medium/orange clutch springs at one line over the lightest adjustment, Malossi yellow "Dio" contra (the white one that came with the Multivar is a lot longer than stock) and 6x 4.5g Polini rollers. Tried to test ride it, but I'm getting either major clutch or belt slip and it doesn't want to barely move Went to pull the side back off to investigate, but got distracted and have started making a decent fuel pump bracket and replacing all the fuel and oil lines (again) so they will no longer run over the side of the engine.

Pulled the side off to find this mess Figured it was binding hard enough to hold the clutch bell and cause slip, so out with the faithful old angle grinder to search for some clearance Also notice the fixed face? Turns out it is slightly thinner than stock and never fully tightened up so it wobbled a little. The KN roller kit came with a couple shim/tuning washer so I used them to adjust it and get it tight. Swapped in a set of 5g rollers Started first kick and made a horrible high pitch buzzing noise, quickly shut it down and pulled the side again Now that it's even and also spaced out a touch by the washers it's rubbing right around now! Swapped the stock one back on, going to see if I can machine the edge of the alloy one a bit thinner to try gain some clearance back. So after all this I get it all back together again, fire it up, give it some throttle, 5500rpm the clutch engages and it still slips like anything resulting in the scoot barely moving at all Thoughts on venting the clutch cover? Was thinking of cutting a slot to both cool and clear the clutch and some vent holes, I'm just a bit wary of cutting it up since it's the support for the left axle!

My Malossi was kind of underwhelming when i first installed it, after I sanded the faces to get better contact patch it got real grabby.
Could also be some packaging oil or something on the clutch, maybe try washing the bell and clutch with some brakeclean?

I would try replacing the cvt cover gasket. On my Honda, the gasket getting old and thin makes a big difference in clearance inside. Also, are you sure you have the right clutch/bell combo? Maybe try an oem clutch real quick with some holes drilled in the shoes.

Will give the clutch/bell a good scrub up with brake cleaner and see if that helps.
I couldn't get a new stock CVT cover gasket, so I cut one myself out of .4mm/.016" gasket paper. I've got a roll of .8mm so will cut a thicker one for it and see if it helps.
I ordered the correct part numbers at least, but scootertuning removed the clutch and bell from the retail packaging before sending them so I've got nothing with the numbers on here. The clutch is listed as fitting Dio and I'm running a Dio ZX torque driver etc, the bell is listed as fitting Dio and was recommended by a couple guys in Japan that run them in Gyros.
The clutch looks like it fits correctly, the adjustment holes in the bell line up perfectly with the adjustment screws too. Stock bell looks to sit perfectly over the Stage6 clutch, but I didn't try and run it with the stock bell/Stage6 clutch combo.

What springs are you using in the clutch? The red ones? They might be too stiff.

Ya red springs can be really high depending on who made em. I had some 8k reds and some 3.5k reds both from China haha.

Using the orange medium ones that came with the clutch, set to the second mark on the adjusters.
Only have 1 of the weights in each arm so will fit the rest and see if it locks up harder.

Not a good contact patch, deff been slipping! Gave it a wipe up with brake cleaner and got a bit of oily crap off Cleaned it up with some 400 paper and brake cleaner Fitted all the weights to the arms and reassembled Didn't seem that rich when the old clutch engaged at about 2000RPM and gradually built up!
