Yep, just keep playing around with jets. Fun fun fun!

A 'jet drill' set is a great tool for measuring unknown jets to get you into the ball park anyway..

If you had base and head gasket leaks, your tune is a wash. Start again. Then do wheelies.

I think probably half the money I've spent on scooter parts since I started a couple years ago was spent on gaskets and gasket materials. Can't cheap out on the cheap stuff haha.

Ended up still hanging a bit once warm with the 45 pilot/95mj and still felt like it was a touch lean at WOT as if I backed off the throttle a little it improved a bit. Found I wasn't getting full CVT travel Went up to 6x5.5g rollers, dropped the RPM a fair bit to about 9500rpm and it gained maybe 3k in speed, starting to think that this new pipe has a lower RPM peak and I'm trying to go way past it. Have got a 50 pilot in there now and it seems ok down low and went up to a 100mj, now it's acting weird under load not wanting to take off, cutting out at WOT and fully dying when riding and just being a pig. Given up for today as it's doing my head in, not sure why this thing is fighting me so badly! Didn't have anywhere near this amount of trouble getting my Suzuki dialled in and that's got a dirty old foam pod filter hanging off it.

Haven't touched this thing since my last post, but a few goodies arrived this morning: Didn't take the angle into account when I ordered it, going to need a 45degree joiner to bring the airbox down level lol What are the silver bits for? I can see that they would attach to the reed cage, I just don't know why?

Nice looking carb and intake. No clue what those silver plates are for. Maybe alternatives to the black ones with the holes?

When it's on the motor it should at less of an angle (the airbox I mean)

Went to fit it tonight, got the old carb/manifold off which took a lot longer than it should have thanks to the auto enricher wiring being nicely cable tied up to the rest of the engine wiring and ran through the frame etc. Cleaned up the gasket surface, dropped the new gasket on and... craaaaaap! (home cut gasket, bit rough but was fine for the stock reed cage) That obviously is less than ideal! Did a bit of measuring and figured I could likely get some time on the mill at my old work and make a spacer, gave up and went inside for dinner. Had a bit of a brainwave while eating, so after dinner I went back out to the shed. Stock inlet manifold happens to have enough meat to seal the Stage6 gasket... Chop chop! After a lot of filing I ended up with this That'll do nicely! benji was right about the angle too, should be easy enough to bend up a bracket to brace the airbox to the stock lug on the cases. Throttle cable needs a longer inner, will make something up tomorrow, other than that it's pretty much all there now! Soooo rich! haha! Just threw it on with all the parts it came out of the box with: 120 Main 30 Power 35 Pilot N68E needle in centre clip. Have got mains from 80 through to 120 and pilots 30 through 55 as well as 11 needles, so should hopefully be able to get it working!

Nice spacer!! They make those for Honda af05 motors btw haha. I bet your jetting is pretty close to spot on. Maybe drop your main jet down to 105-115
I had that same carb on a very similar motor. Ran a unifilter tho, but ran wot for miles at a time on that tune. Slightly rich pays off in the end!

Cheers guys! Came out alright for a chopped up home job haha! Nice spacer!! They make those for Honda af05 motors btw haha. I bet your jetting is pretty close to spot on. Maybe drop your main jet down to 105-115 I had that same carb on a very similar motor. Ran a unifilter tho, but ran wot for miles at a time on that tune. Slightly rich pays off in the end! My TA02 engine seems to use various bits of different Honda engines, cylinder kit is listed AF01/AF29/AF40, driveline parts all match up with AF34/35, but then theres other parts that seem to be Gyro only like the crank and oil pump for example. From what I've been reading the needle that is in there should be pretty much ideal for my "sport" 70cc engine, so will drop down to a 110mj to start with and go from there. Not sure exactly how to go about tuning with the power jet though, it sounds like I'm meant to basically add it to the main jet? So the 120mj in there now + the 30 power jet = a 150mj at WOT?

Egh, not exactly. The powerjet come in to play at wot only, but our little engines seem to have too small a vacuum for it to work 'properly'. Lots of guys block it off with a bb in the hose that goes to it. I ran a 45 slow jet, 105 main, and 30 pilot but jumped up to 110-120 when it had a pipe. Pwks are nice but expect mid-range to be slighlty 'muddy' and weather changes seem to necessitate tuning changes, especially with a foam air filter. I'd run it as is and do a plug chop or 3. I bet its rich, but like I said a little rich is safe!
