Ohh...if interested, I have a simple chart of engine specs so you can see how other Honda 49cc engines compare. Can post here if others interested. Doesn't give tons of aftermarket hope, but does show why some BBK kits are listed as "fits many others". Malossi 31-6170 for example...Gyro not listed, but it is the most available kit NOT listed for a TA-01E engine.
I have both compatible...and nearly compatible engines listed with port timing and ignition specs.

Also interested in having a look! Long term I'm thinking of having the front of a Minarelli engine welded to the rear of a Gyro case. I'd seen hydrochloric acid used in dirt bike chambers a few times in the past and since my neighbour is a pool repair guy it's easy to get my hands on. Flushed the pipe out well with running water then petrol before heating it. At the end of the day the factory pipe is only a temporary solution, it'll be replaced long before the acid makes it fall apart lol. Haven't got too much progress to report at the moment, just waiting on parts and attempting to find the fairings I need in Japan. Might just have to bite the bullet and order the complete fairing kit then attempt to on sell the parts I don't want/ tsimi could convert his bar plastics to Gyro for laughs. Need the front plastics, Zoomer lights, Gyro front carrier rack and some gauges.

Awesome idea Raizer! Minarelli/Gyro is one way...after our 49cc and 70cc Gyro's, I want to do a Gyro with a CR80R engine and ATV rear end. Breaking tradition, but keeping it all Honda. Mostly bolt up and all, except engine/swing arm to frame. Here is my chart: If you have a hard time reading or down loading...PM me here and I can send you direct. Some data not needed, but the important stuff is there...not all models, but a few horizontal, three+ verticals and an MB5 for laughs. Of note for my interest is the port timing progression, or possibly regression. Sort of shows the many ways of messing with power to keep "authorities" happy. The MB5 engine is slightly more aggressive in compression and porting, thus the 7+ hp, but achieves it's speed via gearing. Take note, all you who under estimate what many have said on this forum: There are gains in CVT tuning! I also like the potential of cylinder combo's. My untested example is that the AF16 has a slightly larger bore, but shorter stroke. Cylinder base dimensions are yet to be measured, but I see little reason that an AF16 cylinder/piston cannot be used on a Gyro, Aero or Scoopy. One unexplored reason for my chart. Oh...the reason for horizontal cylinder specs is because I am not yet convinced that a water pumper BBK for a flat Honda cannot be used on a vertical Honda. If so, the envelope can be pushed further! I will soon have one to test. Might be super fun!

Great info!
The more I look into it, the more I think going for genuine Honda fairings may be the way to go. Better quality and I don't get stuck with a big kit I don't need half of. WeBike can do genuine parts too.
So much for a cheap tidy up of a free scooter haha.

Haha...as I said, there is much to be gained by utilizing the Honda engineers original plans. The power is there to be had, if you freshen up and smarten up your equipment.
Funny that you mention fairings. My Gyro will both use it's roots and follow the name-sake. My front end on the 49cc will be from a newer "Scoopy". (Scoopy UP?) The 70cc scooter will be from a "Zoomer X". (ZX UP, or Zoom XUP?)
Raizer, keep with the idea of cheap tidy up! Get the original in top form...max your CVT...then spend what you will. I spend body work cash last. ASNG is not my thing.

It's way too late for going with a cheap build now... Today I cleaned out my little shed, rode the Gyro around the yard for a while then finally got around to making a bracket to mount the coil, pretty much finished up the engine-frame wiring while I was at it, just a few cable ties to go. Also had a go at plastic welding the worst bits of the step fairing Not great, but it would do for a dirty old matt black squirt over at least.

^^^^ Something like that crack is what I would use spray on bedliner for. I'd patch it all up with plastic cement, sand it down and then spray some liner on it. It'll be a texture that will hide the crack/cement. And, you can paint the bedliner whatever color you want.

I've still got half a can of bed liner here too, might throw it together with a matte black and bedliner front half for a while for lols

The sides of my floorboard and knee panel on my Zuma were in really bad shape. I was going to just buy new ones but I tried filling in the deep gouges with cement and that helped but it didn't have any texture so that's when I got the bedliner and yeah, what a difference it made and so I kept them and didn't have to spend money on new ones. Anything to save a buck!

All the foot area and storage bin etc on my Let's I did with bedliner, has held up well and hid the rough welds I did adding the gauge mount

So another package showed up from Japan this AM The one on the left, now what could that be? YAY CANDY! And that's about it. Now back to the Gyro, went out to the shed and the front fell off At this point I looked past the candy and found something else hidden in the bottom of the box... AF35 Dio Live ZX front end and an AF56 Dio stem to tie it all together! Had to trim the steering stops a bit so the stem would turn, got it fitted and then installed the shocks. Going to need to trim up under here and maybe have a couple gussets welded in, being able to steer would be a nice feature! My stock bars aren't even close to fitting, and I will need an AF35 speedo cable, the brakes don't work but they might get away with just being bled as it all looks in good condition. And I now need to give a HUGE THANKS to tsimi for making it all happen!! I seriously owe you one mate!
