Yeah I've got to have a play with the mixture screw and see if I can improve things, it's got a Dio needle in there (I assume it's still Dio anyway), otherwise the jetting is all stock Gyro but it just seems pig rich until it's been WOT under load for a minute and clears it's throat. I do have the new 19mm carb sitting here too, but I'm saving that for when I do the 70cc swap. I've got one of these throttles coming Struggling to find a decent right switch set up that has a switch to turn the lights off, plenty of nice left sets around though! Have got one of these coming from Aliexpress, but I don't know if I like the look of it TBH I'd use the horn button for the starter, but it just doesn't exactly scream quality to me! My other option I've been looking at is using this Jog 100 right set Looks like it'd clean up ok and being a factory part from a major brand I'd dare say the quality will be up there. Would need a Jog cable and probably master cylinder and lever too. Thoughts/advice??

Treatland has a sale campaign running now. Use "bullies10yr" to get 17% off.
Their shipping can be expensive though. Scootertuning.ca has improved their shipping prices extremely. Just in case you need something from them.

I like that right hand control. Would have used one but didn't know about it. Eh, it probably wouldn't have fit on my bars though. And I'd like to see pics. Didn't know that you'd switched to naked bars already.

Here it is. I'm still using the stock bars. I have them just haven't gotten to it yet. Top button can be NO or NC, bottom is momentary.

It's a nice setup. If you do get the throttle there is a cheaper version this one has a bearing on it. It's smooth as butter. Also if you notice the marks on my grip... that's the pull to full throttle. It's a very quick turn. Domino makes the controls for many mopeds so you should be able to find them closer to you.

Zapped up the couple leaks I'd noticed in my exhaust and had another look at the carb. Needle is stock Dio but I'd previously missed that it was lifted to it's richest position, dropped it back to the middle slot. It's not perfect but it sounds to be running a lot better to me

Courier came again this morning! I placed this order on the 13th of August, thanks to the big summer holiday in Japan Honda wasn't shipping out anything so it wasn't sent from Japan until the 22nd, but it only took 4 days to get to NZ and that's when the fun started! Customs tried to charge me an obscene amount of $$ to apply for some special permit or license as they had decided this was a commercial order and that I must be running a business etc. Took so many phone calls and emails with everybody I talked to giving me a different story about what was going on and what I needed to do to get it cleared. /Once I recover from being bent over by NZ Customs just now, update on that tomorrow though... I was about to make a stupidly large payment to Custom when I posted that, but I decided to try and talk to someone one more time and finally I managed to convince the right person I don't run a scooter related business and it was just bits for my own scooter and had it released, annoyingly between the 13th and yesterday the NZD/JPY exchange rates had changed and put the total over the threshold so I still had to fork out an extra $120, but that's much better then the $650odd import license fee + $120 duty fee I was preparing to pay!!! So enough words, you all just want to have a nose at what's in my box right? A whole pile of genuine Honda goodness!! Would have really liked the rear plastic too, but not for NZ$500 before shipping! So now it's pretty much time for paint and to tidy up all the little details, sort out bar controls and other bits. If the rear plastic wasn't so far out of my reach I may have even considered sticking with the white, it's so crisp looking all fresh and new lol

I'd keep the factory fresh white. It would be a shame to paint those panels. Search for a decent rear panel to hold you over until you can get that mint rear. Those are beautiful panels. I've never once had to pay any additional import fees. Maybe I just got lucky.

I'm kinda thinking about getting my rear plastic painted in the same white, it is in good condition, just faded/stained paint and one tiny crack that can easily be fixed up. Along with the HVFactory ignition trim and the carry basket as there different whites. Buuut I like green too... In NZ anything you have sent from overseas that costs over NZ$400 including shipping (less for clothing and shoes etc) has GST and customs fees applied at the border, if you don't pay them within 14 days the parcel is returned to sender and they bill you for the return shipping! I always try to keep my orders well under $400 so they go straight through, this one was $390 at the time of purchase so should have been fine but with the exchange rate change the currency conversion worked out at $400.91 as of yesterday Sometimes you get lucky and they don't pick up on something though, my first order for this scoot was way over and they never flagged it...

Damn now I'm even more undecided about what to do with the paint!! It seems Jog controls are the default for naked bar Gyro's in Japan, the more I look the more I find with them fitted I should really do attempt to make the light brackets and whip the rear fairings off.

May have to redo the bars as yet, was playing around with routing cables and the brakeline etc just now and discovered that the late Gyro stem must sit the bars higher than the AF56 stem I am using, it looks like the part brake lever etc is going to foul on the fairings and it's pretty tight to squeeze the brake line etc in place and still turn. With the stock bars that will never fit the AF56 stem I measured and thought it would have needed a 95cm brake hose (which arrived this AM), but with the late Gyro bars the stock 90cm Dio line is perfect length.
Will keep playing with it and try to figure something out once some more parts arrive so I know exactly what I am dealing with!
