I replied and told them to give me an address and I'll send it wherever they'd like. I said I don't feel the need to speak with their machinist, I just want a head that works at no additional charge. I really do like scrappy. They are FAST. I just get weird wehn you ask me to deal with people sometimes.

Scrappy got back to me and gave me an address to ship to and said the machinist will ship directly to me without waiting. That's as good as anyone could do. :thumb:

The machinist did email me as well abnd seemed very disappointed that a member of his team would let something like that get by. He assured me that I'll enjoy it once I get a proper one.

I got the replacement head from the machine shop today. I must say this is a much better piece of work. Notice how the valves are propperly recessed. The intake valve was marked up from someone doing a lousy job of trying to keep clearances tight with a botched machine job I assume. This one is seated well and clean. 22mm intake valve. This time I got a 17mm exhaust valve instead of a 16mm like last time. 22mm intake port, and a look inside. 22mm exhaust port, and a look inside. If you look back at the pics of the other head, you can actually see quite a few differences. As I have already noted, the exhaust vavle was 1mm shy of it's quoted specs. This cylinder head is the 50cc design, while the other was chamferred as a 70cc would be. The intake port of the last head was around 20mm and this one is 22mm. Obviously the vavle seating and angles are way different. Did I get a prototype or practice head last time? At any rate, if the quality control keeps heads like this latest one passing through and sends the others back, they are nice pieces.

I ordered the same head. Scrappy said he was going to send the head directly from the machinist, as they didn't have any at the Los Vegas store. I ordered the head on 9/2/10, and somehow the head got delivered to someone in Georgia and I live in Michigan. I'm still waiting on the head to arrive. I'm starting to get a little pissed off here!

Hope you've got your delivery by now cybeer. I modded the ScrappyDogScooters cylinder head to make the combustion chamber a more suitable size for the 80cc. Wish it was a little better work, but I've worn down most of the bits I use for the final stages. Clearances were a bit tight, so I did a little work to the piston top to remedy that and put it all together. Before I fired it up, I wanted to try and remedy an issue I've had for a bit. I've been getting oil everywhere from the vent tube and filter. I was going to build a catch can, but then I started thinking about an easier way. When I first isntalled a hose (14-16") and small air filter, I didn't get too much oil leaking out. Then the hose ripped and I just cut it shorter (8-9") and put the filter back on. After that, I got a lot of leakage. I decided to try a longer hose. I ran a hose 2 1/2' or so and then put the filter on the end. I started out with the 150cc carb and intake, but as always I can't get it to respond without hesitation when I hit the throttle with any sort of speed. I really think it needs an accelerator pump like a lot of other CVT carbs (GY6 50 for example). I swapped back to the 50cc carb. The performance is pretty much the same as the stock head that I ported with stock valves. It's disappointing, and after riding the Venus with it's 90cc 2T... ya kinda wonder why you bother with the 4Ts. In the distance that the Venus goes 50, the SunL goes 35ish. Top speed so far is 43MPH. I hope it's out of tune a bit, cause the weather is better now and I still went faster with the stock ported head. As much as it sucks, I still wanna see 50MPH with this thing. It bugs the hell out of me that everyone and their mother claims 50MPH and I have tried multiple setups and can't quite make it. I've spent way too much money for this thing to be a turd still. I guess maybe 2T guys just shouldn't own 4Ts of a similar displacement unless you can accept that it's only there to get good gas mileage. Oh, also if you look up at the pic of the combustion chamber with the spark plug installed you might notice the plug and intake valve look awfully close. When I did a plug check, there is a mark on the ground strap. I should pull it apart and check it out... but I probably won't. I'm gonna cross my fingers and hope for the best. lol Ignorance is bliss. I'm hoping maybe I dropped the plug on teh floor and I've forgotten it, but that's not what it looks like. The good news : The crankcase vent seems to be working just fine.

If you haven't already, talk to them again. I talked to Rick Main ( service@scrappydogscooters.com ) and he got my issue straight fairly quickly.
