HI!! Today, I had the fortune to venture forth into the abiss..formerly known as Wave Runner's and Sea Doo's. Frantic call from the family of a former colleague "We are on the lake with two dead Sea-Doo's."
They live some 160 miles North, but were at my local summer lake craze spot. I loaded up tools and such without knowing WTF I could do.
Long story clipped, they had left an elderly Yamaha Wave Runner 500 ashore, so I used it to drag the mish-mash back to the launch. Upon opening the fuel tank inspection ports? Haha...a nice mixture of agua/petrol/2T oils in both big Sea-Doggies. (Local bad pump??) Air tank/compressor and filter bags and weird on-lookers...ta-da! Zing-zing-zing!!
I now own the little 500. ('89 Wave Runner 500T) Never had a PWC. Now I are one. They thought it was under-powered. It is. So am I.

Rattle can paint looks like crap, runs, sags, orange peel, pinholes, but it is black, not white. I think the part was originally powder coated. The complex shape did not make a good surface for spray can paint. Overspray from painting support tubes landed on everything else making the surface rough. It is covered and so are my hands.
EDIT- Watching paint dry and waiting for parts... The paint fumes are hard on this sick old man. My scoot is black also. I have parts and things squirreled away that have not seen the light of day for 20 years.

Changed disc pads today, weird that one side only wore out. Both caliper sliders and pistons move freely. Was surprised it only took 45 minutes max.

Has a hose kinked or collapsed internally blocking flow on one side?
The trike is assembled and adjusted. One rear wheel had a 3/8" double wobble from being shaped like a potato chip. The other one was only out in one spot by 1/4". Horrible China parts. The axle-freewheel adapter also wobbles. I wish my lathe was up and running, I could have made one better. The motor and electrics are being installed. I am not happy with the motor mount bracket alignment. I need to make some adjustment somewhere. I decided to use a cigarette lighter style power port for charging at 24V. I am scratching my head on where to mount it. I used the same style of port on my scoot to charge the battery. It was also handy for phone chargers etc. I do not know if many phone chargers can stand 24V though. I am also mounting 24V head and tail lights on the trike. The tail lights are 12V units wired in series.
UPDATE: Made an 'adjustment'. Loosened a bolt and gave a bracket a whack with a block of wood and a BFH -Must fabricate brackets for tail lights from 4" corner braces. They will fasten where stupid rear fenders were supposed to go. Very lightly used #40 chain soaking in paint thinner ready to be installed. The #40 industrial chain is wider than the proper #410 1/8" wide single speed bike chain but it will work and I had it in a junk box.

Engine light has been on and off a few times due to bad cat. Been putting it off. Finally decided to go for it today because there's a vibe at 5k rpm that's been driving me nuts and I cannot find it. Also the front spoiler decided to resonate like mad at around 100+ mph that had to be looked at before I break 3 digits again. New pretty high flow Berk cat to replace the currently busted high flow Berk. I really like these, and got another. Off with the old, in with the new. The honeycomb in the old cat was just flopping around. I managed to shake it around and get it lodged sideways. Well damn, I knew the car didn't have the power it used to. What a difference. Now it's louder, faster, and the engine is super responsive. One of my babies was sicker than I realized. Took a file to the inside of the new cat to remove three burrs where the weld melted through a little bit. Really small spots, not bad. Couple of bolts that fasten the front spoiler were quite loose, so I snugged them up good. Not sure if I'll have a chance to ring it out in top gear this year to test, so we'll see. And I thought that pesky vibe was in the CF hood (bonnet? tyres? whatever) somewhere. I took the hood off and drove around... damn, still vibrating. At least now I know I can have that loud rising sun painted on without worrying that there's something mechanically wrong with the hood. Got a quote, plan to bring it in last week of September. Man it's gonna be obnoxiously cool. I haven't told anyone yet, think I'll just spring it on them haha.

That's what im thinking FrankenMech with the brakes giving it a run around and checking both wheel rims and both the same heat when get chance will pull the wheel off again as due the tyre changing before heading Southampton way for a funeral in a couple of weeks. Trike sounds like it's coming along. fuzzyruttin we need pics when you get your hood painted. ☺️

Trike electric controls all mounted and being wired. Headlight and tail lights all mounted. Hooking things up is difficult with fine motor skills screwed up. May have to take my front door off the hinges to get trike out. May be able to shift it around on it's side though. I have to clear a space for it in the garage.
Thinking I should just sell my scoot for parts and to make room. It has been sitting for a long time so carb is gummed up, fuel is bad, etc. Needs valves adjusted and CVT put back together. I should gather up my spares for it and sell them also.

That must be a rare bike Milly. Can't ever recall seeing one before. No I not seen one either till I saw Derek working on it at his unit by the garage, the only thing I recognized was the Ducati engine. Torrential rain tonight so won't be roadtesting tomorrow.

That damage around the headlight will buff out with a little fiberglass and Bondo polish. Getting another headlight bucket may be the worst problem.
The trike electrics all work and are permanently mounted. The right rear wheel drive lug was off center and so is the axle drive lug. Absolutely shitty China parts. I can not understand why anyone running a machine would make crappy parts like these much less the person assembling parts would use them in an assembly. When junk parts are used in an assembly it makes the whole assembly junk. I finally mounted them both to offset the eccentricities to each other. Hub runs much better but still a total piece of crap. I need to test the run-out on the other axle I have. I am contemplating asking for a new wheel. With the eccentrics offset the rim runs over 0.200" out. I can not get an indicator on the hub but I can see it is much better. I had to stick a dial indicator on the rim. I am still working on getting the wheel trued up. Unfortunately I have been sick this past week with no recovery in sight. All of the rims on this Chinese turd have required truing up. There is NO excuse for this type of product.
