While i wait to get the rest of the parts for my new carb set up, I decided to finally look at the tail light issue. When the ignition switch is turned on the tail light is on. At this point I'm not sure if it's because the brake light is on or the regular tail light. Seems a bit bright to be the tail light IMO. -I have tested both switch levers. (They are good) -I have tested all the fuses (they are good) -The blinkers work -there is continuity between the Bl/Br wire in the taillight pigtail and the black brake switch wire I tried seeing if the voltage changed at the pigtail for the brake light wire when switch engaged and I got the same voltage as with the brake disengaged (12V). I need to pass inspection to renew my registration and with out the lights there's no passing. I could bribe the guy to get it done but if I plan on going to the crawl the last thing I need is someone running into me while I brake. #safetyfirst Internet is out at the house so I can't email myself the wiring diagram to see it bigger....I'll have to print it out at work tomorrow morning. Wiring diagram for future reference. Edit: unplugged brake light wire and had regular tail light on. Touched the leads for the brake light and it brightened up. This was done with the brake switches plugged in and unplugged. Same result. Could it be the ECU?

Also, while trying to remove the bolts for the DORF, one of them stripped, not sure how or why it was so tight, so all that troubleshooting was done with the seat down. Not fun. At some point I need to get a bike lift. Working off the garage floor sucks.

Might ghetto rig a the brake switches to the pigtail connection directly tomorrow, see if that works 🤔

Got the wire tucked in. Took it for a past-midnight ride around the neighborhood. Everything is working like a charm 🛵🤙🏼
Got a video on the GoPro but it's pretty dark and the mic wasn't working for some reason.

What was the problem with the wiring?

What was the problem with the wiring? For now the issue has been bypassed. The harness connection to the brake switches is not being used. I think I have narrowed it down to a grounding issue or a problem with the ECU. that's based on what the manual says. There's a new line going from the levers to the brake light cable directly. Not a solution but a bandaid to get the inspection and registration updated before I get caught riddin' dirty.

I think that's a legit config. My bike doesn't use the ECU at all.

Rucksanne becoming half legal after passing her inspection. Sat in the lobby of where I got the inspection and did the registration on-line to make her fully legal once more. I'm planning on going to a cars and coffee event this weekend so cops would be there when everyone is leaving. Not worth risking it since I've been riding dirty since February.

Tanuki was curious about how Rucksanne sounded. After getting the video she bogged down. Luckily I still had the GoPro rolling. youtu.be/Zass_xjESX4It's back to the drawing board. I'll be cleaning the carb and jets again. Maybe see if some jets I have laying around fit the carb. More info: battery did not dip below 13V. The "kiss of life" was performed before Rucksanne was started. The Ruck ran fine for about twice around the block then the events from the video happened.

Update. Did a lazy clean up on the carb (took off filter and sprayed carb cleaner down it's throat)
I remembered when I ride with fatkid that there were no issues when I didn't go WOT. took it for a spin to get my name up on the board for the scooter tag game, made sure not to get throttle happy and there were no issues.
Main jet too small? Maybe. I'll take it apart later today to see if the jets I have will work.

When it bigger did it jerk or pull when it fired back up!

Sounds like you have a pinhole leak and when the circumstances are right (it's got a good vacuum and it's trying to pull air) it shows itself. Then when it bigger it lets go!of the suction and it disappears. Doesn't have to be very big.
If you get you hands on a pwk, we'd be on the same platform and our bikes would be tuned the same way. With that original carb on it it's hard to tell. I got an extra intake for a pwk if you want it.

lilpinny I got the OKO. Only thing I'm missing is the throttle cable, jets and intake so PM me and we can see what I can do about that intake
