Hello everyone!

I'm spazter12. I live in the Houston area and like a lot of the newish guys in the forum I am also a TR refugee. On top of that I am a member of the Little Kings.

I have been lurking around the forum for a while. Mostly on the word thread.

As promised here it goes...

It all started on a rainy day. I drove 4.5 hours to get this beauty.

I had been lusting over getting a ruckus for years and after getting a big boy job after college I was finally able to get one.

She was pretty much stock and the previous owner had removed the front fender. Lucky for me, he still had it and I put it back on. Not everyone does this but I like the way it looks better. As you will see later, the stock fender is still part of my build.

The first thing I did was change the handle bars.


I relocated the speedo to the new bars and the blinker light to the battery box (BB).

This relocation was pretty JDM..nothing but zip ties.

The following thing I did was change the stock front blinkers for flush mounted LED ones on the BB.

Then I got a washer dress up kit for the BB.

This is where the mods stop being only cosmetic.

For safety reasons and due to the fact that the speed limit on the road outside of the neighborhood I lived in was 55mph, I decided to go to the dark side and swap the GET engine, and all its reliability for a 150cc gy6 engine. This is a pretty common swap with in the ruckus world.

Same reason I went GY6, the street outside my neighborhoods speed limit is 65mph. Getting passed by 10 ft tall 4x4’s missing you by inches is spooky.

My car was starting to mess up so I convinced the wife to let me sell it and use the money on the swap. I got the full Rucksters two piece wheel swap, mostly because I fell in love with the wheels.The pictures are pretty self explanatory, things that may not show up are the front wire and cable tuck and the fact that it's all rattle can. One day I hope to powder coat everything. But that won't be for a while.

People ask how long a stretched out ruckus is. The answer is almost 6 feet

With the new engine and the straight pipe exhaust the ruckus was too loud for the stock horn so I got an upgrade.

At this point my ruck was a daily driver and I had to drive in the dark all the time. So on top of the safety aspects, I liked how the accents looked.

Since that last picture I have moved from West Texas to East Texas so I don get to ride as often anymore since my office is now about 20 miles away.

I had some battery issues before Christmas but with the help of my TR Secret Santa (lilpinny), I was able to get my ruck back up and running.

In the new year fatkid came to town and we had a small ride. It was my first ride with a scoot...before I rode around with big bikes, but they liked their throttles too much to be fun for me lol

thanks pinny, It's literally just rattle canned. Got it at AutoZone if I'm not mistaken. The only issue is that even with the clear sealant topcoat the sun is not it's friend.

At some point I will log in on my computer and move the pictures where they belong. I can do it on Tapatalk bit it's kind of a pain.
