That's exactly the reason I need a new one for the slide carb. The intake it came with is almost twice as long as the one I got now

While I was trying to do a valve adjustment I noticed that the timing wasn't quite right. So let's go ahead and add that to the list of things that was leaving me stranded.

I redid the timing, did the valve spacing and RTVd the clocking flange and intake. I did the clocking flange last night so that one should be good. But I was too excited to ride the ruck again. So I took it for a spin. It did great for the first 1.5ish mile and then the issue happened again. Talked to lilpinny who reminded me I should have waited a day for the RTV to cure. I took off the intake and noticed that the RTV was still tacky. Might have jumped the gun on that one. I redid the intake and it shall cure overnight to see if thst helps. 🤞🏼

Took it for a spin today. 5 miles with two stalls. There was no bogging down or popping at the exhaustafter releasing the throttle. The two stalls only happened as I slowed down at a light. Could be due to fuel starvation?
It starts right up after I let the fuel pump run a few times. It also idles like a champ.
I ordered an O2 bung to weld to my exhaust and hopefully I'll be able to get the rest of the parts I need for the carb swap in mid July. 🤞🏼

If you give it a little gas right before it dies will it save it from dying?

It did. On the last stall I might have waited too long to blip the throttle so it died on me.

If you got the intake all RTV'd up I doubt it's air (at least from the intake).
If it's gas I don't know how to fix it with your setup. That would come from the ECU.
Try and take it for a long ride... Like an hour, and see if it starts running differently when it's really warmed up.
I wouldn't worry too much tho, you're going to switch the carb and that'll change it all up. Hopefully for the better.

Got the bung welded on to the exhaust today. I'll be priming and painting the bung to match the rest of the exhaust later this week. ------------------------- I also got the rest of the parts I needed to swap to my 28mm OKO carb. A pack of main jets (#100 to #122), just in case I need them for tuning. #32 and #35 idle jets and fuel filter Intake manifold Tall angled clocking flange to clear cross bar on rear frame

FOR FUTURE REFERENCE:
As per TRS suggestions there are the original 28mm OKO carb settings: -E clip on the needle has been places at the lowest setting -main jet: #118 -idle jet: #32 -air screw ran all the way in and backed out ½ turn
May the GYsex gods shine upon me

See how the 118 works. I used a 115, I think

I was debating about changing it to 115 I might still actually do it. I'm hoping to do a test ride later today.

Here's the repainted and reinstalled exhaust. Now, once I get the ruck running reliably, I can fine tune the carb with a wideband 🤙🏼
