I cleaned my carb. Is there another step? I tried to start it again after I put the carb on an still nothing. I checked the petcock again and I can suck fuel thru it. When I did clean the carb there was no fuel in the bowl. The hoses to the carb are new. I am lost. I can’t give up though because my son loves this thing. Any help will be appreciated.

What do you guys think about trying starter fluid? Maybe spraying a little into the air intake of the carburetor before or as I start it?

Okay another question. Does anyone know how to bypass the petcock, specifically the one I have? . I posted photos of it.

What do you guys think about the info below? Sound like smart option to fix my issue?
”Yes you can just run a hose from the tank to the carb and plug off the vacuum line. Only problem is that the bowel of the carb may over fill when it is just sitting, but probably not. It is easy enough to check out and see, if it does not work out just put it back together as it was. You can check at a auto supply for a petcock, or a motorcycle shop, scooter dealers also would be a good place to look.

What do you guys think? bowel I think whoever wrote that misspelled bowl. Although I think I like bowel better. That way I can say I "disemboweled" a carb to clean it.

Benji, do you think it is possible to run the lines in such a way?

Yeah you can do that but I don't think there's a reason to. I've run a similar version of that in the past, I put a motorcycle petcock on my fuel tank with an on-off lever. If I left it in the on position, it would leak gasoline from time to time out of the carb.

I checked the petcock again and I can suck fuel thru it. where did you suck at? You're supposed to suck on the vacuum line going to the petcock, that should make the petcock open up and allow fuel to flow through it. You shouldn't be able to (nor should you try to) suck gasoline straight thru the petcock by sucking on the fuel line.

That is exactly what I did. I sucked air via the vacuum line and I got fuel thru the fuel line that is attached to the petcock

Then your good there. Check your float valve in the carb.

Also be sure that the petcocks vacuum line connects to the intake (after the carb) so that it gets maximum suction. If that dont work to fill the bowl, then exactly as benji said, check the float valve. This valve here would replace the vacuum petcock. Then be sure to plug the vacuum nipple so you dont get a major lean issue.

I have another question. Which nipple on the carburetor is the fuel intake nipple. The one on the side of the air intake or the one on the side of the engine? The line with the protective spring is the fuel line right next to the air intake.
