Try and keep it under 80. I dunno, I break 'em in hard. If you wanna go easy on it, you should be able to hear what's revving a lot and what's not. :dunno:

I've always done different ways of breaking stuff in, like brent say run it hard but don't giver her wide open for long.

The reeds go on the reed block found under the intake, remove the 4 bolts and then take the intake off and under there you find the block on two sides of the block are 4 reeds two on each side. there are little screws holding them on. when putting the new ones on make sure you use some lock tight. how this helps there was a diy thread but i can't find it.

You could leave the stock ones, but I'd swap them out since you'll have them with the kit. It doesn't take that long.

I'd go 40:1 mix ratio. I put the oil in first so the fuel pumping in will stir it up and then just give the can a few shakes. I've got a calculator here that will tell you how much oil you need for whatever amount of fuel you enter. 49ccscoot.com/calculators.html

does 16 ounces sound right for a 5 gallon jug at 40:1 mix ratio?

Yes............ but I would be a bit more generous on a fresh build, 32:1, but to each his/her own.

that definitly makes sence to do that since its fresh cylinder and piston. how many tanks should i run through at 32:1 till i go to 40:1. is there anything bad that could happen from eventually lowering the oil amount vs gas?

This is something YOU have to decide. Makers of synthetic oil claim mix ratios of up to 100:1, I am not too sure you will get them to buy you a motor though, if it "squeaks". Honda wants a 32:1 ratio run in their CR grenades which is the ratio I run all the time (though I don't *think* Honda is about to step up and buy me a motor if it goes wrong).
So, let me put it this way: Too much oil and you will foul your plug and fill your exhaust with carbon.... performance will be a bit down too. Too little oil and you will "squeak" your engine.
On a "new" motor I use a bit of extra oil for the first 3 tanks.
