Hah man thats so cool that mouth with the teeth and red mesh background! It needs some angry eyes too! The really cool thing about it, it was completely my Girlfriend's idea. I was set on doing 2 symmetrical cut outs as I explained it to her. The she asked if she could "make an artistic suggestion". The white teeth and red mesh was all her idea. In regards to the "eyes", I searched on Amazon. I found small projector lights with halos around the lenses, that's the plan for now.

I love the look but I need to be a party pooper and say if you find your running hot you may need to find screen with more open area. You may find that the fine screen is too restrictive for airflow. I guess you could always test with a fan and see how much air makes it through.

If it doesn't work out, I'll just rip it out later.

sellin' out to the Honda side. picked up a used, stock SYM dd50 engine. cleaned it up and did some inspections. $300, not bad for what it is, but get some work to do. I plan on doing a ministroker Corsa with a Scorpion pipe and stock air box for fun. I finally get to delve into the DIO world...the 70 mph world . this is one of those things for shits and giggles. soon it will be time to go and smash some ELITEs, SYM dd50's, and SpreeDIOs on their own turf with a built dd50 engine. it'z,ova! an adventure to test my own skill and find out where I stand in the pecking order of "Honda" tuners here on Oahu, where hundreds of modified Honda based bikes roam the streets. I plan on putting it on a Chinese 4 stroke scoot, perfect for running it on premix. it's gonna be a sleeper.

Sounds like a great plan. 👍 I did have a go on a DD50 once. It was totally stock. Was surprising quick up to its 30MPH limit.

Was surprising quick up to its 30MPH limit. 30MPH! lol. there was a moped rental company that rented SYM dd50's. one day, while riding my gas engine kit bicycle beach cruiser to work, I seen a group of 8 tourists on rented SYMs trying to race each other. I ended up passing all of them on my bicycle, even the 2 guys that were "full tuck" for aerodynamics. that was a super fun experience.

The pipe looks very crusty,,hope it'll clean up without breaking through...
after many years, it finally happened.
finally bought a 4 1/2" grinder, used a knotted wire cup to knock off most of the iron oxide. followed that up with an abrasive disc. then some preservation, 3 coats of High Temp paint.

revival. bought a legal bike to continue on with. mid way through reconstruction of the original GTX, the neighbors tree trimmers dropped branches on the bike, breaking the side skirts and mirrors on both sides of the bike. so it went on hold. new acquisition. 2012 Ningbo GTX 2 stroke (chinese minarelli clone). rode it home from waikiki to kailua at a neck breaking speed of 25 mph, fun times! busted out the old Beast. going to start cleaning it up and get it ready to run. should replace the crank seals. need to cobble up the CVT parts for this engine. apparently when i stopped work, i stripped the CVT. since im getting back into it, i stopped by a hobby store in Honolulu called Hobbietat. they sell RC stuff as well as fishing supplies. i bought me some gasoline compatible Tygon hoses. 3 different diameters at a cost of $2 per foot. i bought 10 feet of each size. then i went on the hunt for new drive belts. ended up at Mr. Scooters / Moped Doctors. ghetto Japanese moped shop, a lot of people talk shit about that place but i have learned how to deal with Robert over the years. was on the hunt for a 788 and a 792. he had both belts and sold them to me for $30 each. 788 Malossi and 792 Mitsuboshi. back in the action again, i went and visited the Chinese moped shop. pretty trippy place. Mr. Lee stutters in Chinese and in English. it's kind of mind blowing. but i love his shop because it's like a scooter swap meet mixed with a parts-for-scooters chinese storefront. he's seen me for years, so i walk in and browse around. then later i walk up to him and i point out all the things that i want or am interested in and he gives me a running total. in the end, he gives me a final total price and we agree on it. new clear speedo cover $10. Jog yms V8 was quoted $180 but he sold it to me for $160. more stuffs from Mister Lee. Jog air box $25 (i actually bought 2 of them). Velocity stack $20. rear brake light lense $10. chrome air scoop $15. i like Mr Lee because he is honest in his dealings. he straight up knows that older GTX lights are different from the newer Jonway lights even though you might think they look exactly the same, there is slight differences. he made sure that i understood that, but im a guy that knows how to "make it work" if i have to, so it works out for mister Lee and me.

Back from the dead! 😂 You have been busy shopping. I wish there was even one scooter shop I could get parts from near me.
a lot of people tell me to buy online. i am one of those people that like the "hunt". i also like to support local small businesses. it is really a blessing to access shops like these. each shop has their own niche. each shop has their own Vibe. each shop has their own quirks. some shops are pricks.
a lot of times, it's me thinking that i want a certain part, for example new lenses for the head lights or lenses for tail lights because the ones i have are faded or cracked. then i randomly visit Mister Lee's shop and he has boxes that have tail lights and tail lights. when that happens, i buy it. gotta be careful what you wish for from the universe. too many times i have called it's bluff. thinking in my head, "if i come across it, i will buy it" after thinking of a part, finally seeing it but not buying it. i used to do the same thing with girls in my college daze, making deals with the universe, "if i run into that hot girl from class, im going to talk to her". Bamm! 5 minutes later, run into her on campus...SPEECHLESS, no can talk.
in the moped/scoot shop realm here on Oahu, most times customer service comes across as rushed or rude. for some reason, most shops are uncomfortable with browsing, which is what i like to do. as soon as you walk in, they ask what you want and keep it short. there are a select few owners along the way that i have seen change. Mr Lee, the stuttering Chinese man, he lets me browse now. Sam from 808Cycles, he lets me browse. George from the former Motosource, the same. it takes years and money for these shop owners/operators to realize that i do not haggle on prices and i do not complain or return any items or even attempt to return items. until that point, they treat you like you wasting their time, but i can understand why here on Oahu.

more things from Mr Lee's shop. old seat from when i bought this bike, plastic frame is cracked so the seat sags. New seat $40 Mesh seat cover $20 head lights $40 and tail lights $25. the tail light assembly came with lenses, they are fitted onto the old stock tail light housing. this particular tail assembly is for the newer Jonway scoots, the body panel screw locations on this assembly is not the same as my GTX existing assembly. so i used the lenses to replace the broken existing lenses.
