Need to find a real squish type head instead of that 'waffle' Yamaha type head, your motor will thank you for it!Keep that exhaust port roof radius!!Frits Overmars has a drawing of the ideal race single port configuration , will post it tomorrow as I'm on a road trip now,,
in my realm, you 190mech , are like a spiritual guru in my 2 stroke realm.
i Power-Lapped the Motoforce head so that i could have a squish-band head for my 54mm bore.
this Engine is an ANIMAL now! you said, "your motor will thank you..."
...I Thank You. it is a night and day difference between the 'waffle' head and the back-yard squish band cylinder head. Thank You for the recommendation on switching to a Squish-Band head.
the bike does 50+ MPH full-up like nothing. it just keeps Eating at full throttle. ...for that matter, it Eats and Any-Throttle.
i can only wonder what this engine will be like when i get the JAD (Dio) pipe welded up and running on this 54mm bore kit now that i has a Squish-Band head.
it will be even more ANIMAL, and you are to Blame (sarcasm) for this madness! LOL. 11K rpm, here we Go!

because it was actually a "JOG" YMS V8, i will document this here as well. the insides of a YMS V8 for "JOG" drawn out at 1:1 scale. this is what the inside of a half-wave pipe looks like.

Half wave. Sounds like CB radio talk. I had a 5/8th wave antenna. Theory was the 5/8th would “push” the wave outwards at a better rate than a 1/2 wave. Yes radio frequency and reflected sound waves are not very closely related but I ran CBs in a lot of my vehicles. I had a true 1/4 wave cowboy whip on two of them. That was a monster. Hit every bridge in York county. Even a k40 or a Wilson 1000 is still a 9’ length but with a bunch of wire wound up somewhere to make it tune to 1/4 wavelength. k40, Wilson 1000 and similar were bottom loaded, fiberglass pole whips have wire wound around to equal 9’, elcheapo antennas have a black center load coil.

you might be on to something here.
now that you mention 5/8th wave antenna, the guts of the V8 look to be like a 5/8th wave rather than a real half-wave.
thank you for sharing that information.

my drawing of the YMS V8 internals might be inaccurate. i was looking up "power pipes" in the Philippines and i came across this video of the guy from RF Pipes cutting open a KAS half-wave canister. unlike my drawing, this KAS pipe actually has 1 extra baffle in it. watching him braze/weld the pipe back up is very interesting. i found another video of a pipe builder MV Racing. it is pretty neat to watch them tack and weld with an Oxy-Acetylene torch. now i see why 190mech and 90GTVert told me to research welding processes when i hacked up my JAD pipe to reorient it's configuration. they make it look so simple with the torch. and lastly, the guys from GM Pipes in the Philippines. ...they all use gas torches.

i love that guys channel. seeing all the titanium fabrication in Thailand makes me a lil' bit envious.
Thailand got some cool machines. Thai Torque has some cool videos too.
