Hey Moms, I have a couple thoughts here. I’ve flooded all 3 of my vespas and what I do is lean it to the left really far to try an drain it out. Then back up to kick position, no choke, WOT position and just KICK KICK KICK rapid fire until it starts. Never fails
Also I always drain the carb before parking for long. So I’ll come home, close the fuel tap and let it idle for a minute until it dies of no fuel.
Couple thoughts. Good luck

It didn’t work when I tried it but I’ll try is again. Also the carb, it’s 40 years old. It’s just running way to rich and their might be some kinda air leak. Dunno until I take it apart.

Right now I can’t do anything since I sprained my knee. Can’t kick start jack.
But I got time know to work on this one. I’m not going to farm this out out, gosh darn it. 😂
Send candy.

But seriously, the engine floods out. It leaks a tiny tiny bit even when the gas is off. First kick it’ll fire up, rev up, seemingly burning off all the gas, then it dies and you can’t kick start it again.
Interestingly, when pepper was taking it over to scootlords place in order to get it on his truck he had a lift that put it almost 90 degrees in the air... straight up. It fires right up after that. So maybe that got all the gas out of the cylinder. To me that means too much gas is getting in there.

When I bought it from the guy he said let it burn all the fuel out when you stop. He was like “always do this”. Sometimes I do, sometimes I don’t, but I think from now on I will always.

Shoot!!! I went riding tonight and when I got back I went to turn the fuel off and the lever is like stripped or something. It’s turning, but it’s clicking around, it ain’t turning anything. I figure I pull the engine side cowl off any look around. I have a feeling I’m going to need a part. Did you replace this yet? You'll have to pull the tank to get in there, just a head's up. Since your bike is loading up when sitting, it sounds like you need to replace the valve anyway. With a good fuel valve, PXs don't really load up at all. I can start mine in 3 kicks normally after sitting unused for months. With a bad valve though, they can load in hours. Matt

Funny thing is I do have a new petcock for it I got when the lever broke. I’ll check that out for sure.
