C16 for vert minarelli will fit on a dio? What do you have to cut? I like my Yasuni R that I got for my horizontal, but the metal rusted pretty quickly, cleaned it off and hit it with bbq paint for now. Yes my friend. It involves some work. So far, there have been 2 successful attempts on this forum of members installing C16's on honda vert engines. Neat stuff. It is not direct fit, but it will fit if you do some "fitting".

ERR,it takes me around 25 hours to build a good pipe..Whats your time worth?? Ever seen how Bills pipes makes em? They use molds to stamp the majority of the pipes shape and then Oxy-acetylene the parts together. Of course you need molds, a giant press, finishing tools, a large stock of sheet metal, welding equipment and jigs but hey! Its possible! I know SSS has been contracting with some Chinese manufacturing companies to produce S23 products. Maybe we all band together and make a 49ccscooot.com branded expansion chamber, one for Mina and one for Honda. Could be neat!

My good friend/fabricator general oh that lives a block up for me is a full on welder I asked him the other night why don't we get into building custom thing custom scooter pipes for hondas and such but at a better quality than obetter quality than what's available and his answer was get get me the proper welder and the proper materials and and no problem he thinks that it won't be cost effective To put down the overhead for all the needed supplies But if if we had such a welder .I'm sure between the 3 of us we could turn a nice profit over here in Hawaii and offer some tigwelled beauties that are only seen in overseas Europe.
i see where you are coming from 808ministroke . but then it only really becomes worth it if it is like a pass-time or a hobby. to do it for full-on profit is too intensive. for real kine, mo betta have it made in Philippines or Thailand. i guy from the shipyard told me that labor is cheap there and people can fabricate.
like what 190mech asked, how much is your time worth.
and by the way, we already figured out the solution for a high quality pipe for the DIOs. and that is the C16 for zuma vert. at $260 for what you get compared to JAD, Scorpion, Sparrow, AP Magic, or even the TWH pipes, it is the best bang for the buck. QUALITY all around and it's a beauty.
if you want to fill a niche of quality exhaust for DIO, maybe a copy of the C20/C21 for DIO. yasuni dont make a C20 for zuma vert. if they did, i would have bought that instead of the C16 and i would have ported the Taida 50mm to the same timings as the unused Polini Evo2 bore that i have and run the 2 ring Taida piston as a single ring.
another way to fill a niche, you sell a bore kit and pipe combo. you make DIO pipe to the same spec as the Polini Evo pipe for the zuma vert. you combine that with the "bombproof" and venerated Polini Corsa, ported to Evo timings. Hammah! i have read of people taking Corsa up to 425*. you could also cheap out and go with the Contessa but you gonna have to do heavy porting. plus too, i have a feeling the pistons are different. SSS got Contessa piston for $82 and Corsa piston for $99. is the price difference due the the chrome rings on the Corsa? or is it a better quality piston and that is why people have taken Corsas to over 400* with no ill effects?
or since you are an MHR guy, you can make a MHR pipe copy for DIO. mate that to a ported MHR Replica, port the MHR Rep to MHR timings. SSS got MHR zuma vert pipes for $370. slip flange and spring like the Yasuni C16 so it can be accommodated the same way as the C16.
currently (day before thanksgiving) Scooter Tuning got 15% off sale MHR listed at $356 CAD ($281 us) normal list $419 CAD ($333 us).
for all the DIO guys, now is the time to get the C16. normal list price $339 CAD ($267 us) but now at $288 CAD ($227 us). that's a steal. hint...hint...to the visitors. $227 for a C16 is outrageous for the type of quality and known performance. it is not direct fit, but it can be done.
for that matter as far as i can see, it's 15% off at scooter tuning right now.
It should be known I had to cut my engine mount to get my C16 to fit and I needed help from a real fabricator. However I am working on a kit to swap your C16 onto a Dio/Elite without the need for any complex tools, just a hacksaw or grinder.

the other guy did it with a Dremel, a drill, longer bolts and some spacers. no welding.

was that a legal frame? i checked it out on offerup and from the pics, i assumed it wasn't legal. besides that, i would prefer to build a 120cc stroker on my own. when you buy the "stroker" bike as a whole, it is like a box of chocolates, you really never know what you're gonna get. a lot of times, people are just selling their problems. make some money, and pass the problem along to the next guy. the amount of SYMs and Honda's that are posted these days for sale, but no papers. really...? s-t-o-l-e-n
then you get guys posting SYM block for sale. tell 'um i am interested in buying it. then he tells me that i has stripped holes for the CVT cover. so i offer him $240. he counters back with "highest offer is $300" and the damn thing is still posted up for sale. the dd50 engine that i got was posted for $300 but i offered $350 for it to be delivered to Kailua. Full engine, plug and play kine, rear wheel and all, with air box. the guy said there was no problems with it. i heard that line so many times when buying car parts from guys on the old ForumsHawaii. good thing i tore down the engine because i would have chased a problem that i would never have been able to solve without splitting the cases. apparently, someone used screws/bolts that were too long on the stator and they cranked them in at some point. by doing that, they punctured the backside of it which is the crankcase. if i never overhauled this engine and split the case, i would have never seen that. ...box of chocolates... but back to SYM block guy, i am not paying $250 for bare block just because it comes with a "mini stroker" crank, straight foolish. i trip out on the DioWorld here on Oahu.
but on a side note for you 808ministroke a rolling Rexy went up on FBmarketpl@ce for $200. i thought you'd be interested in that.

I actually saw that 1 and and another rolling wrecksy ST in better condition for a 100 bucks It is not for me though it might be for the person who is the person who wants to buy the the air cooled rexy block is bold rexy block that I have postage still on offer up Is trying to get like 500 for it Unless it's A Honda rider than 700, It's gotta AB Mini stroker crank thank which it's kind of shit shitty in my mind because it's still a 10 pin, So you have a small end that's still lis still likely to seize up and only gain gain Maybe 2 and a 1/2 C c's.... I think the Mini stroker crank craze is for the Honda guys people that are just chasing the displacement.. Knock knock there is a replacement for displacement and they're called revolutions.... Well that's my take on it Seeing as I only have twonly have 2 rexie frames one is dedicated to my piazzio and the other has a front mounted custom Is bracketed radiator on what is actually a maco front panel panel which happens to be more than twice as strong and solid then the SMC rexy panels. So I aint willing to take the radiator off the frame Especially when that's the frame that already belongs to my water called rexy I ended up with one more engine than I had frame because I bought that water cooled block by itself... Anyways I get the whole can of worms theory Personally I think any build where you have to cut the case so much were the 3A threaded holes are are now partially exposed boast and you need to put sealer on your stud so that you don't get air leak And if you're lucky be able to fit the inefficient fan shroud back over the thing isn't gonna last long no matter how well it's put together I figured for $800 dollars it would be yeah at least maybe a few months of fun If the engine blows up in a month I wouldn't be surprised But to buy all those parts separately you end up spending over 2 g's With all the extras And worst comes to worship still end up with a genuine kehin carb Which go for go for 2 $300 easily... It was a spur-of-the-moment thing but I actually think it's still posted did and I would still oh be down to check it out... It doesn't have to be on a frame for somebody with somebody with 2 stroke whispering skills To spend a few minutes and see if it's worthy of your time meaning compression no is in compression no leagues And that's about all you can hope for with Taiwanese parts honestly If I was gonna spend the money to build a stroker I would just build a minerally stroker. But I don't think that can be done for $800 lol

time to BUMP this thread up as it approaches 11,000 views. i find it amusing that my DD50 engine thread has gotten 10,000+ views and it is only 10 pages deep. but like i have stated before, if pictures of this engine build brought to you 49ccscoot, and you have been lurking, you might as well take the time to join this forum. on to parts porn... did some shopping at 808 Cycle Center this Saturday and last Saturday. 220mm TwPo floating rotor $75. NCY titanium plated disk brake screws $21. and some front wheel spacers for 10mm axle, machined aluminum $45. HENG 10mm axle $50. OKO 24mm PWK carb with power jet $85. NCY big brake bracket for 220mm disk $50. NCY brake caliper $115. Axle pullers was thrown in for free ($30). Naraku variator shims was thrown in just in case i needed to shim the brake caliper. Red axle pullers was thrown in. the clamps on the right is from a set of low-down front shock set that i bought $165. also bought a fork tree for $100. SC1 spray and the axle pullers were freebies/bonus. fit-up assembly, disk side. fit-up assembly, speedo gear side. closer pic of the assembly on the disk side. i should have taken pics of the parts before i took them out of the packaging, but i was too eager to fit everything up and took pics after the fact. i went to the hardware store and bought my own fasteners and washer for the brake bracket and caliper. i bought 2 sets of fasteners for the brake assembly. one set is button head allen and the other set it regular socket head allen fasteners. i like the look of the button heads but i am probably going to drill the heads of the socket allens so that i can lock wire the bolts. my other option is to drill the threaded portion and insert a nylon locking pellet to prevent the screws from backing out from vibration. i also replaced the cap screws that clamp the forks to the tree because the existing ones had a small diameter heads. so i replaced them with M8 stainless steel socket head cap screws and added a washer to each bolt. after assembling the parts in the IrieLab, i did some brain stormin' and i think i am going to get one more NCY caliper and make an adapter plate so that i can run 2 calipers. 2 NCY calipers would be Sick on this 220mm rotor.

surpassed 11K views, i Trip. but anyway, went back to 808 Cycle Center to buy the last red NCY caliper he had. the store manager, Steele, asked if i was going to install the caliper in the rear. i told him no, and that i had a ludicrous idea of installing 2 NCY calipers on the front for more stopping power. Steele told me that 1 NCY caliper on a 220mm rotor is enough to lock up the front wheel. (i neva knew dat). but because my imagination is weird like that, i bought the caliper anyway. if not, i can use the caliper on my Ningbo GTX's (Sareena or SlowPed). but to satisfy my imagination, this is what it looks like mocked up. since the ultimate intent is for all these parts from this "DD50 engine build" to go on a Chinese 4 stroke bike, i started some fiddling and tinkering. shocks mounted to Chinarelli tree. and then the front fairing installed with the front rolling assembly mocked up. fun time in the IrieLab. in the end, the DD50 powered GTX is going to be pretty and fast and pretty fast.

Great work. Living by the sea, I feel your pain about corrosion. If you ride in the wet. The water can lay between the pipe, and wrap. Making it corrode worse.
so very true.
this was a sectional YMS V8 for JOG that i had wrapped. it was sitting on the side of the house for over a year. i installed it 2 days ago because i could hear some rattling from my current V8 pipe. no rattling in the can, but 150 feet after i got on to the main road at WOT it just got supper loud. that is when the rust had burst under the fiberglass wrap.
the thickness of the oxide is amazing. it is about 1/8" thick. this is the material that was under the fiberglass wrap. aside the from the big hole, the wall thickness of the pipe where the rust was removed is very thin. this pipe is dust.
i will end up cutting off the flange and some of the headder and use that to adapt the DIO mid Scorpion-type pipe to this 54mm Minarelli.
** 13,500 views. LOL. if you are new, and not signed up on the forum and this DD50 engine thread brought you here to 49ccscoot, sign up and become a member please. this is a great commuinty. **
