Don't stretch it! Gotta keep it stock appearing for the sleeper vibe.
Oh hippo008, you makin' life hard for me. (sarc).
the "strech" idea was just so that i would be able to clear the Chinarelli engine mount tab on the frame. i did not feel like cutting it off just in case i want to convert the Sareena frame back to a Chinarelli engine. without the slight stretch, the engine mount tabs will contact the intake manifold and the fan shroud. there are 2 options, cut the mount tab off at the welds to the frame, or just cut the tabs about 0.5"-1.0" from where it is welded to the frame.
"Gotta keep it stock for the sleeper vibe," LOL. bruddah, this thing has red low-down shocks, 220mm front brake rotor with a red NCY caliper, red wheels, red throttle, red frame, red axle pullers, and naked handle bar assembly. this thing is anything other than "stock appearing" and it does not look like a sleeper with all aftermarket parts on it. it is screamin' for attention. i was thinking along the lines of lowered with a slight stretch to make it somewhat like the Ruckus look.
but since you brought it up, i will explore the idea of non-stretch mount modification as well.

I like that you even have a matching red fan, it at this point might as well be stretched as you said it's past the point of no return for a sleeper so go all the way probably end up looking mo betta.

808ministroke what is funny is that it is a KOSO cooling fan and a KOSO fan shroud. but get this, i put that white PVC transition piece in there. it is a thin plastic transition piece to reduce a 4" dryer duct hose down to 3" dryer duct hose. the reason i did that was because there is a gap of about 3/8" between the shroud and the face of the fan (inducer?). to me, it just made no logical sense for a gap that big. all i could think of was a loss in cooling efficiency, so i got that transition piece at the hardware store and the diameter on the small side just happened to fit perfectly in the KOSO fan shroud opening.
you want a blue KOSO kick start kicker? that's the only thing that does not match the flow, but i got it for cheap at Rainbow Motors (Mr. Lee's shop in Kalihi). i am going to pull it off at some point. because it just does not match the rest of the bike.
upon further thinking, hippo008 has a good point. for now, i am going to mock it up to "stock", i put the rear mudguard, tail lights and rear top body panels on it. the rear tire still fits under the mudguard at that position. it will be stock length for now because i need to see how the rear break cable will fit up. bumbye (by-and-by) i end up mocking it up with too much stretch and then i cannot find a rear brake cable long enough for it. i figure, i can buy another 4 stroke mount from Mr. Lee for $25 and then make one mount "stretch" and make the other one "stock". i know Mr. Lee has more that 1 length of break cable in stock because he told me that if the one that he sold me does not fit, bring it back and he would swap it out. so for now, stock length.
don't get me wrong though 808ministroke, i have been probin' out in the Irie Lab and i was thinking about mounting a rotor to the DD50 rear wheel hub. the DD50's came with 2 piece rear wheels. the bolt pattern is around 100mm x 100mm. so i am looking for a 220mm or 200mm rotor that has a 4 x 100mm bolt pattern so that it fits up to the back side of SYM hub. then it would be a matter of making an adapter bracket to mount a caliper to the engine case... front and rear disk breaks on a SYM powered Chinarelli GTX . at that point, i would not have to worry about a brake cable that was long enough. i still want to make an adapter plate so that i can mount another NCY caliper on the front.

Funny that you mentioned these things just as I was about to show you what I came across Here are some pictures of a SIM engine block Tim engine block that was was welded to fit a 4 stroke frame you can't see the entire engine mount but you can get an idea of which part He hacked together. If I were you I would just try to get a good red paint red paint and match it to your other red but I agree it's not going with the whole theme of the bike and I'm sure you can get a red one pretty easily, Also if you have any soul sort of doubt in your mind of your abilities to connect to different mounting brackets or well together a one piece that has the SIM side on it and the 4 strokes sthe forestroke side you can always bring the motor up to market bring the motor up to mochaquilo and my friend will Weld that for you strong as an ox. I have yet to put on that red fork you gave me but I found out it actually does fit does fit only different is it will only fit a narrow front rim which means I will have to swap it out from my other my other bike which happens to have a perelli front tire that's Brand new plus I just put on a rear Racing tire from Germany if I have that fatty in the back and the tiny perelli n front 1 Oh and the NCY break cables that they make for Honda ruckuses stretched I believe add 6" or so and is far long enough to reach you're back wheel so so although disk would be f****** killer it would be a lot cheaper and easier to just get the extended brake cable although I don't think you are me is about easy or cheap, But sometimes you have to make sacrifices just to keep yourself From the never ending project

thanks for those pictures 808ministroke. that is a pretty trick way of solving the problem of the engine mount, pretty much is a combination of both mounts put together. i might have to take you up on your offer of your "Makakilo Weld Shop". i will let you know once my mock-ups are done. as for the red stem/tree, i hope it fits up nicely on your bike. thanks for the info on the longer brake cable. it's good to know that i have options. but i like the idea of converting the SYM wheel into rear disk and making an adapter bracket for the caliper. drum brake rear is always Option #1. but Option #2, rear disk break, seems like a more "fun" challenge and the end result would "seem" to be better performance as far as stopping power of the bike. "Cheaper and easier" is just too easy. LOL

some parts and modifications large boot mounted to carb. stock DD50 airbox with carb boot removed. started opening it up with a Dremel. DD50 airbox mocked up with the large carb boot. need to get a 1-7/8" hole saw to make the hole in the DD50 airbox nice. Where did you get the carb boot? I am looking for that boot my guy.

If you ride in the wet. The water can lay between the pipe, and wrap. Making it corrode worse.
this man spoketh the Truth.
this is the end result after wire wheeling the rust and corrosion off of the V8 pipe.
but the cool thing about this happening is that i finally saw the insides of the YMS V8 that is said to be a half-wave exhaust.
i will draw it up and post it later on.

People here in Boston are charging $90 for those boots. The thing is I am sure they are purchased from AliExpress for like $1 each but I can't find them anywhere. I'll give 808 a call and pick some up

Inside a YMS V8. i probed the V8 pipe that had the corroded runner. this is a drawing of what i probed drawn out to 1:1 scale. what is the relevance of this? just so that those that want to know can have some understanding of what the inside of these half-wave pipes look like.

i made a mock up template for a bracket to run 2 NCY brake calipers on the front wheel. the plate that i am planning on using is 0.125", a little over 3 mm, in thickness. this is just the brainstorm mock up from looking at my picture of the 2 red NCY calipers on the 220mm brake rotor. concept for now, i gotta wait till i get more play $ on a paycheck before i can buy another NCY caliper at 808 Cycle Center.

Mock up pieces for the engine mount. A little more "fitting" of the cross piece that goes where the engine bolts up. I just thought it was funny to see this thread go from 16,990 views this morning to currently 17,050 views in one day. There are that many lurkers coming to 49ccscoot to check out this engine. My girlfriend trips out on how many people have seen her living room rug with moped engine and parts. --- so, to the lurkers and visitors, please sign up on the forum and become a contributing member, if you like lay low, it's okay, you can still LIKE people's posts if you find the information useful. But 60+ views on page 2 of Builds. That tells me that lots of people are checking out this silly Build thread. I just ask that you sign up and share your knowledge or share your Build. I like see. Must have plenty Dio and DD50 guys looking at this thread, sign up and share what You have. I admire creativity, I am not a hater, I am an artist. Join 49ccscoot. I would love to see other people's Dio/SYM engine builds too. No shame, share what you get, I'm from hawaii, I not critical.
