The Elites I think 90X90/10 is the max. That’s what I used to run. I thought I read or watched a video somewhere of them running 110/90's or something like that, but that very well may be wishful thinking. Those things are just so damn cheap to build. Hopefully I can make something work with it. Either way, I'm keeping it haha.

Finally getting to work at removing material on the cases. Laid the a Corsa gasket down on the cases and marked with Sharpie. Not a whole lot to take off and pretty much got it done. I’ll take pictures of the final result. Kinda hard to see, but you can make out the black marker where I had to open it up for the ports. One question... when I put the gasket on the bottom of the cylinder jug, it hangs over the edge of the ports on the exhaust side by maybe a mm or so. Should I trim the gasket to better match the cylinder? I have two and they both do this. They are both from the manufacturer. Other than that, lots and lots of sanding and polishing to get these cases looking decent in my future.

I guess I took that picture right after I rubbed them with the file just a little bit haha.

Should I not be sanding the cases btw? I started sanding them with 120 a 220 grit (only recklessly on non-mating surfaces) to get through all the oxidation and corrosion and they're becoming shiny-ish, which is fine with me. Everywhere I look on the internet just mentions soda blasting and cleaning with Simple Green and such though. That wasn't eating through all of the buildup in my case though. I was planning on sanding to a smooth finish and then polishing with aluminum polish.

Sandpaper is fine as long as the residue is taken care of,I use green pan scrubs to freshen up the cases.

Anyone have any input on that gasket and whether or not I should trim it since it's covering up the ports a bit?

Anyone have any input on that gasket and whether or not I should trim it since it's covering up the ports a bit? I'd trim 'em. I usually try to match the gasket to the cyl base and then match the cases to the gasket. Less steps. If you don't trim the gaskets and get it all to match, you probably won't notice a difference though.

So, this probably belongs in the "dumbest things you've done" thread, but I matched my cases to my ports and everything was going well. Got all finished up and smoothed some stuff out for enhanced flow with just the sanding left to do. Then I realized that I didn't have the gasket, which I based my case trimming off of, in the correct orientation when I marked and trimmed the cases. So now they are the mirror image of what I was going for. The ports on the cylinder overlap a little on one side and the cases overlap the cylinder on the other. The mismatch isn't incredibly bad, but there is definitely a mismatch. Probably even works a little worse in the pics than it does in real life because they're pretty close-up pics. So how can I remedy this or should I leave it alone? Can I file down the ports on the cylinder? Should I buy those cases I've been debating? Just roll with it? Damnit...

Are you test fitting the cylinder on the studs? That would effect how things line up if your just laying the cylinder on the case.

It doesn’t look terrible but a few minutes with a file should clean that up nicely.

I’m extremely tempted to just click the button on the new cases. Already have them in my cart ready to go.

I'd just match the cyl to the cases and be happy..Be sure and get that sharp edge rounded where the transfer duct meets the bore,no sharp edges should be in the port paths, round out the piston on that area too...

Okay I can do that. As long as you guys think it'll still make for a reliable daily driver. Here's what I'm left with for a sealing surface.
