Alright, so at about 40 minutes I lost 1.5-2 lbs. of pressure at maximum WITH a crappy (at best) gauge. Started at about 6.5 lbs. and ended just below 5 lbs. when I checked. I can’t find any air bubbles anywhere. Does that count as sealed?

Been slowly cleaning and assembling my CVT parts now. Giving the rear pulley I got from Aliexpress a good cleaning. It's a poor man's over range and seems to pair up really well with the Polini over range front half. Scooter Tuning is out of stock on the Polini rear pulleys, so I'm waiting for their next shipment from Italy, which isn't seeming like it will be too soon. Grateful to have this thing in the meantime. Few Polini Hi Speed specific variator install questions... never seen some of these parts or at least not the way they look in this kit. The first thing I'm not familiar with is this bushing/sleeve thing. Is this to go between the main variator bushing and the crankshaft? It fits right atop the variator bushing, but doesn't slide into the recess on the bushing and does slide right over the crank. Next, why is there a recess on the bushing? And what in the heck are these for? They have an odd little "tail" on them I've never seen before. Any help or hints would be appreciated!

I used to run the Polini Hi-Speed Evo OR variator on my previous Jog engine. I made an install video and posted tons of images in this forum. Unfortunately I removed those a while back. Luckily the engine is in the room next door so I went and took some pics for better understanding. Normally there should be a small collar on the crankshaft behind the stock variator. That is not needed anymore. Place that new collar on the crankshaft first. The variator rear plate doesn't have any teeth like the stock plate has, so that it can fit on top of that new collar. Once the variator is on the crankshaft hold it there and take the drive boss and insert the recessed end towards the engine. Done! Those things with the tails are spacers used to space out the rear collar that sits on the crankshaft to align the belt with the rear pulley. You most likely won't need those. Do not use them as spacers on the drive boss the tail will damage your belt. If you want to use them as regular spacers sand down those tails and make sure they are nice and smooth.

Thanks so much man! Makes sense about those little tailed spacers now. Those things had my baffled lol.

Forgot to mention. You won't be able to use an electric starter with an OR variator.

Forgot to mention. You won't be able to use an electric starter with an OR variator. Right on, I ditched the idea of an electric start long ago lol. I’ve almost always used my kickstart on my scooters. They’re so easy to kick over, I could never understand the need of having one in the first place.

The saga continues... Polini is the star of this episode. My Polini bushing slides right onto my Polini crank (just liked pictured in tsimi's post above) and then the Polini main bushing slides on and sits nicely inside the Polini Hi Speed... then the Polini front half slides on over the Polini crank and the Polini star washer has nothing to Polini grab onto. It's like a mm or so off, so I need to get an extra mm somewhere (what guy doesn't, am I right?). Should I sand down the bushing, front pulley half? Bushing slides over crankshaft. Still looking good. Not so good. Should I take it off of the front half?

From your first picture it looks like the collar is the other way around. Compare your picture with mine and you'll see that there is some sort of lip on one side and flat on the other. the flat side which is shown on your picture goes toward the engine case. the side with the lip faces outward so that the recessed side of the drive boss can sit over it. Hope that makes sense.
What also surprises me is you actually have a C-clip inside there right before the crank seal. Did you add that or was it originally there already? I never had one on any of my engines.

Or do I just get rid of the bushing altogether and use a shim? I forgot I have to get the castle nut or starter but, whatever it’s called, on too.

Look at this comparison image. Mine sits further back inside than yours. And the lip is the other way around. I believe that if you place everything correctly you'll have enough crank teeth left for the castle nut to grab.
