As Long as you can still get full variator travel so you get your top speed . Go ahead get some 4 gram rollers and see if you like them . Or You can stagger 4/4.5/4/4.5/4/4.5 Your acceleration is pretty damn good as is just saying . I'm getting all but about 2mm. And that is with the belt slipping. Gonna put a new belt on and reshim. And since the vari will be off gonna try 4g and see if it gives me what I'm after. Well after I fix this hole in my case

2 mm is pretty good Hole in case could just be left as is for character and belt cooling air flow .

2 mm is pretty good Hole in case could just be left as is for character and belt cooling air flow . Wish it was that simple but nah it's the cause of the gear oil "leak" that only seems to happen after a long blast at 50ish, cause well I'm wot pretty much everywhere. The hole is the dark spot on the left side of the bolt And this is the belt travel that I'm getting currently. And have seen as high as 9540 rpm at 52-53 mph. When I take it off for the b e it and weight change I'll measure it for real

Was that hole there by design ?
Is it from overflow of gear oil ?
I had some leak from my gear case and it would increase it would leak out the side of the case from a over flow in the back of crank case near the brake like yours .
One corner of the gasket had a rip . Had to buy some gasket material from autozone and draw out my own . That fixed it up tight .

It could be an overflow but I'm not taking any chances, since it had been patched before. I've patched it with some quiksteel. And I'm using Ultra Black as a gasket.

Put the new belt on and reshimed. Also dropped down to 4 grams in the vari. Measured the travel and it was at 2.8mm on the old belt and 4.5gram setup

Well got to work this morning and only had one drop of gear oil on the brake cable. After a 34 mile ride id say that's not bad. But 4 grams is too light. Topped at 50 at 9400. And seemed to stay screaming a lot more then normal. When I get home im gonna check travel and switch to 5 grams. Hopefully it's better

As i figured 4 grams was too light. Had 6.66mm left. And to edit I had 3.8mm (not 2.8 as in a prior post) with the old belt and 4.5gram setup. Now I went to 5 grams. Haven't pulled the cover to recheck travel as it has gotten dark and I'm tired. But it seems to be a lot happier, takes off better, now it doesn't want to spin the tire(on dirt) it just goes.
I've also rejected to a 108 main due to more sputtering at wide open. Now with the 105 my temps were only topping at 240° after 15 mile wide open runs. But she would be spitting and sputtering the whole time. Then it would get really bad when it run the filter/bowl empty. Guess im gonna be getting rid of the vacuum "cock" and going with a regular shut off valve. Maybe that will give her enough fuel, well until the tank runs dry. Although as a note I'm getting about 30mpg at the moment. Not bad for having a 21mm carb on a sport 70cc(it only got 35-38mpg as a 50cc).

Wow that Cp carb pushes some fuel through . I get closer to 60 mpg with my stock carb
I took my first run of the season Part Throttle I run mid 200 degrees . Full Blast I settle in 320 -330 degrees . It was good to get out it was 50 degrees outside today . For my set up on my zuma ,5.5 grams is where it performs best 5 is going too light 6 is too heavy . 5.5 sliders is the lightest I can Run with full Belt travel .

Thats an overflow/vent on the gearbox..Youve likely got it a bit over full or your lube is foaming causing the level to rise..

Got 53 mph out of her today. I was drafting and tucked due to 20+mph (mostly headwinds) winds today. And still held 40-45 on its own. Was seeing 83-8600 on its own and the drafting blast was about 9540. Which I'm thinking is about the limit with this cylinder. Also checked belt travel and width. Travel is 4.7mm and width has dropped from 16.8 down to 16.2. Now I'm scratching my head wondering why I had 3.8mm with 4.5 grams and 4.7 with 5 grams. I'm turning about 400 rpm less at the same speeds as I was with the 4.5 and old belt. Which the old belt and this belt are currently at the same width. But, and I wish I had pictures, I can't get the belt to ride as high on the rear as I had before. The old belt and shimming (~.7mm) it would sit high enough that you could see the cord of the belt around the entire pulley. And this time (at ~1.5mm) the top of the belt sits about the top of the pulley. Gonna mess with shimming again tomorrow night or possibly Saturday after work. Although at the same time I may leave it be at least till the winds die down a bit more. I feel that she could get 60 top end the way she is but not if I'm battling 20 mph winds

It's so hard to get any meaningful figures, when the wind is so bad. But 50 is still a good speed in those conditions.
