A friend of my mother's got COVID. Both vac, no booster. She called an ambulance roughly a week ago. They took her to the nearest hospital, which refused to let them bring her in and told them they'd have to go elsewhere. They then took her 30-40 miles away to the next closest hospital. They wouldn't take her either, but did agree to have a doctor come to the ambulance to check. Gave her a prescription of some sort and sent her home. My mother called her today to see how she was doing and the lady sounded rough and said she didn't feel well at all so she urged her to at least call hospitals and see what they say. They ended up calling an ambulance and they found her oxygen levels to be between 67-70%. They took her to a hospital immediately and she was admitted. Update on this : The day after being admitted to the hospital, her heart went into a-fib with a heart rate of 160. THey managed to get it down to a better level and back in rhythm, but I still don't think it's great. She was on a BPAP machine (like a CPAP, but different pressure for inhale and exhale to better assist breathing). Yesterday they said they have one last ditch effort treatment before she has to go on a ventilator. Even if the treatment works, it sounds like at least 2 more weeks in the hospital. Her husband, who had heart bypass surgery a month ago, also got COVID and he's doing much better. Again, it's unpredictable. Anyone would have guessed he would be the one to struggle. Seeing how quickly everything changed and how rough the prognosis could be even in what's now the best case scenario has definitely reminded me once again how much I don't want this and don't want anyone else to get it. We all may get it, but I'm not holding up my hand to volunteer.

My brother has been pretty sick with fever and massive chills since Friday evening. His test results are not back yet. He has not had any of the vaccinations. So far I am good, but I had a mild case of COVID a while back even though I have had the J&J and a booster. Things are getting crazy again.

... "Person to Person People with co-v can spread it to others up to about 6 feet away. Most experts think that co-v viruses spread mainly by droplets made when people with flu cough, sneeze or talk. These droplets can land in the mouths or noses of people who are nearby or possibly be inhaled into the lungs. Less often, a person might get co-v by touching a surface or object that has flu virus on it and then touching their own mouth, nose, or possibly their eyes. When co-v Spreads People with co-v are most contagious in the first three to four days after their illness begins. Most healthy adults may be able to infect others beginning 1 day before symptoms develop and up to 5 to 7 days after becoming sick. Children and some people with weakened immune systems may pass the virus for longer than 7 days. Symptoms can begin about 2 days (but can range from 1 to 4 days) after the virus enters the body. That means that you may be able to pass on the co-v to someone else before you know you are sick, as well as while you are sick. Some people can be infected with a co-v virus but have no symptoms. During this time, those people may still spread the virus to others. Period of Contagiousness You may be able to pass on co-v to someone else before you know you are sick, as well as while you are sick." --from the CDC but i replaced "Flu" with co-v because it sounds the same. www.cdc.gov/flu/about/disease/spread.htmthe way i see it, it is Airborne. there are studies that say Influenza can spread via aerosol. Aerosol transmission is an important mode of influenza A virus spread from the NIH. Study confirms flu likely spreads by aerosols, not just coughs, sneezes from the University of Minnesota 2018. for those unfamiliar with bio aerosol testing, g00gle "operation Sea Spray" and read about what happened. not only was the Nayvee doing tests, the Armee did tests to. sea spray subjected SanFrancisco and hawaii to bacillus globigii and Serratia marcescens. Serratia m. can cause pneumonia. after that, check out "large area coverage" from the Armee chem corps. they even tested some gas in hawaii. U.S. Tested A Nerve Gas In Hawaii. not to mention davy crockett round tests too. The Facts about Depleted Uranium in Hawaii from hawaii department of health. the two weeks leading up to christmas, i seen it go from clear skies to massive upper level cloud cover. intense jet stream moisture, full overcast, to the point that we could not see the sun here in hawaii. from what i learned in hawaiian navigation class in college, our professor told us, "if you pay attention to the upper atmosphere clouds here, you can tell when it will storm/rain on the the mainland. the moisture rides the jet stream and then it descends to the inversion layer as it reaches the west coast of mainland in about 5 days." i pretty much knew the mainland was going to get slammed with a big winter storm. the neat thing is, when the heavy overcast began, seen two ships at work get hot 2 weeks before christmas. state counts were low. then as the holidays came, the count numbers went from 700,800, and ramped up 3000 and peaking over 4000 in a day. pretty neat to see the zone get hot inside the gate at work, and then 2 weeks later it gets hot outside the gate in general population. imagine such an existence for civil servants. been doing my own observational testing. got mask requirement at work indoors, but no specification of mask material. for while i wore "BioSkin" fabric face masks. great quality and tight pores. however, working in an "industrial environment" in engine rooms that get up to 108 degrees, once that mask got wet from sweating, i was suffocating. passing out under and 40 ton gas turbine generator module due to oxygen deficiency was not going to happen. so for over a year and a half i have been wearing these bandana print and style masks that are made of sports jersey type material with ear loops. never in my life did it think i would be able to go to work with a red shirt, red bandana mask, and a red baseball hat. i have even done the blue Navee coveralls and blue bandana mask too. the black sailors i work with trip out, one of them flashed me some hand signs and said, "what up Blood!" and it said, "i dunno what you talking about." lol. even a white senior chief tripped out on me one day when i was in red. as a "civy", i can dress like that, such a great loophole. after 2 years of the same work gang, 7 workers and 1 supervisor, no one has tested hot. when we are around each other, what masks? indoors/outdoors... if we got "guests" or observers, everybody get masks. nobody's house hold has popped hot either. when we are jobbin' out on the ship as a group, anyone foreign to our group that comes into our work area is treated as Hot, especially sailors. even though it is their space, we treat them as Hot. call us lucky, call us foolish, it is how we do as work gang. we are are our own family and we take care of each other. we spend 8-12 hours a day with each other at work. if someone has symptoms, it is their "kuleana" (right/responsibility) to take leave an stay home. this is hawaii, in a way, your coworker's family is your family too. one of my coworkers will stay home and test if he has symptoms. even if he tests negative, as long as he has symptoms, he will stay home. back to topic. i seen some Solanum nigrum tincture on the net. we call it Popolo here. we have poplolo tincture sold here too, but i always have the plant growing in my yard all time. i propagate it because it is hard to find when you need it. but ya, look it up. medicinal uses for Pneumonia. but came across this today, as study was done and look here, Cannabis compounds stopped COVID virus from infecting human cells in lab study from Fortune. fortune.com/2022/01/12/cannabis-compounds-stop-covid-virus-infecting-human-cells-lab-study/ study by OSU.

Scientists have known many diseases are airborne for a long time. Even back in medieval times they thought 'vapors' spread disease. Don't put much faith in six foot spread either. Of course keeping 6 feet away from others helps but the virus can hang around in air currents for a long time. Just look at studies of the measles virus.
Cannabis stops covid, seems pretty farfetched but then tar from cigarettes spread on the back of rats caused cancer too. Seems anything can do anything if concentrated enough. Don't put much faith in fake 'studies'.

It is a proven, time and time again, fact that lab rats cause cancer.

It is a proven, time and time again, fact that lab rats cause cancer. My vertabrate embryology professor told us that the gene pool of lab rats are so small. Even if lab rats were not exposed to anything, a fair amount of them will naturally come down with cancer naturally.

Neat stuff, hawaii news posted that we have 40,000+ active cases. But so far, after 2 years, we just passed 1000 deaths in Hawaii.
I g00gled CDC flu deaths for Hawaii. So if you take the last data set for influenza death in Hawaii, add 2 years together, to get a 2 year count for influenza death. That influenza number still exceeds our covid death count in Hawaii (1000 deaths). --described like a Flu. Same death count as the Flu... walks like a duck and quacks like a duck.
As long as there are military personnel doing PCS (change of station), we ain't ever going to stop Co-v. They are the assymptomatic young bucks that are spreading them. Ships in the gate always go Hot 2-4 weeks before it goes Hot out side the gate in general population. I ain't the only one that noticed it, people in my work gang drew the same conclusion as well. 2 year observational study.

The biggest spreaders are the huge pool of people traveling, usually by air. PCS does not help of course. Fast air travel is something that has not been around for previous pandemics like the Spanish flu or the 'black death'. That is why airports should have been shut down as soon as this pandemic started. Unfortunately they were not in this country. Some countries did a fairly good job initially but got lax when dumb people complained and rioted.
We had a vaccine in a few countries but not enough for the entire world which left reservoirs of infection and variants developed. We will not get rid of the Covid until every country is vaccinated to a high percentage with better vaccines. The initial vaccines are loosing effectiveness against some variants. At some point we may get a variant that is extremely deadly. We already have some horrible diseases (like Ebola) that have been largely contained but always ready to break out. The new mRNA vaccine tech offers us some hope if we can get everyone vaccinated.
In my own small county in Kansass we have had 111,258 cases 1,158 reported deaths from Covid. This is not the Flu. The Covid got here and spread early, brought by a group of air travelers that visited a conference in Floriduh.

some of us at work would have been good subjects to test in regards to natural immunity. working in clandestine hot zones for over 2 years before coerced to get vacks. many of us feel we got exposed in dec 2019. many people had unusual headaches and flu symptoms. ...and now "science" cares about natural immunity. but look now. CDC Study: Natural Immunity Provides Significantly More Protection Against COVID Than Vaccination Onlyas civilians in the hot zone, we realized early on in 2020 that we were exposed. and because everyone that had the flu/fever/headache at the end of '19, none of them ever tested hot even though they worked in high exposure environments, they talked, payed attention to the way things played out over 2 years. a lot of people at work had the same symptoms right around a specific time period. but this was before the days of masks, sanitizing, and restrictions. i still think that working with c0balt-6o c0ntamination and getting blasted with g@mma r@diati0n was more of a work threat than Co-v. if it was that nuuuuts, patients should have been placed in large glove bags with negative ventilation hepa filtration. doctors should have suited up for contamination controls or clean room practices. but maybe we get quickly desensitized to "fears" at work because there are so many ways to die everyday in a shipyard. there could be a disgruntled topside watch that decides to shoot some civilians and then shoot himself. we even used to sarcastically joke around that the r@diati0n kept us healthy. then after getting blasted, you end up saying "r@diati0n is my friend". when work requires you to go on a boat that you know very well had high counts, you analyze the hazards. but after going into high count spaces on a daily basis, for months on end, you as well as your coworkers tend to draw some conclusions as to how intense the threat is. all the while, everyone else on the outside is on lock down.

The study also said: Early on in the pandemic testing for exposure was not available. or was highly limited. I come from a similar work background. Most of my work exposure was to horrific chemicals, some we could do nothing about, and some of us died. I also had heavy exposure to physical materials like asbestos, fiberglass, cabosil, microballoons, bery11ium, lead & mercury vapor, and lots of dep1eted ur@nium (radi@ti0n). I also grew up in the worst radi0logical hot spot of North America where dust from b0mb tests settled. It is a miracle I don't glow in the dark and have avoided cancer thus far. My Ex that grew up in the same town did not avoid cancer. Some of the toys I made parts for ended up on submarines. I still believe in vaccinations. I have been through the horror of measles and other childhood diseases before vaccines were available. Because of an odd coincidence with having measles and chickenpox at almost the same time (they overlapped) my 'natural immunity' did not protect me from measles again and I had measles 5 times. Each exposure to measles resulted in less serious symptoms but it was still bad. Very similar to Covid immunity.
Whatever your state of 'natural immunity' may or may not be it is better to not be selfish and get vaccinated and wear masks to do your part to slow down the spread of disease and help protect others that truly can not be vaccinated or are too young.

My mother's friend that I talked about earlier just finally got positive news that the path out of the hospital is coming. She's finally back to breathing mostly on her own with some sort of hourly boosters. She says just standing is difficult after the time in bed. They'll start working with her Monday to get her walking again and once she can walk and maintain an acceptable breathing/oxygen level she can go home. Even before she was admitted to the hospital, she was in bed at home for awhile and saying that she could only walk a few steps before she was out of breath so we're talking around a month already that she's been ill and most of it she couldn't really get out of bed.
Very sorry to hear that anyone is sick and I hope she's OK pimp.

I am obviously not her doctor but I would say there is a high probability the booster had nothing to do with it since she had two previous vaccinations. People get sick. What does her doctor say?
