I have got to sort some way to get pics. I may have to just buy a camera. I ended up using two 12V 9AH SLA batteries due to space constraints.
I am in the process of sorting the rear drive wheel hub. I am throwing out the manufacturer's punched out plate steel drive-lug and replacing it with a machined part from a local machine shop since my lathe is not running. My drive-lug will center itself on the 15mm axle and have a milled slot to engage their crappy eccentric welded on unit. There will be some rotational 'slop' in the drive mechanism that I will have to deal with somehow. It may cause a 'clunk' when the wheel shifts as the rear brake is applied or drive power is reapplied after braking. The manufacturer's punched out plate induces similar problems and stresses on the wheel hub. I may try to use the front brake only since I can get brake pads. The rear band brake may not have replaceable parts. I do have a spare rear brake unit due to the replacement axle assy they sent to replace the crooked housing. I have found a $$$$ trike dealer in town and will have to investigate their shop and spares supply.
I think the manufacturer is using 'off-the-shelf' axle freewheel and drive-lug adapters that seem to fit a 15MM (0.591") or 5/8" (0.625") axle that seem to be commonly available. The result is a 0.034" or worse sloppy fit on a 15MM axle. My dial indicator measurements confirm the sloppy fit. The sloppy fit for freewheel adapters makes the sprockets wobble. To make matters worse they welded the drive part on the axle so it can't be removed and replaced with a good 15MM only part easily.
Bean-counters rule the manufacturing world and turn good designs into shit.

Well getting on with it as had to clear the spare ramp for a long term project of a customer on a suburu Impreza. Just managed to get both sprockets tapped off and hit hand with hammer a lot and matching up the new ones. Will get on putting it back together later when done this month's timesheet.

Freewheel sprockets are not easy to get off when one does not have the proper tool but a punch and hammer always works. I put anti-seize on mine when I put it together. I also found that a spacer was required between the freewheel sprockets. I think I used a 1-1/2" external snap ring for the spacer since it was thin. It just fits over the freewheel adapter ISO 1.375"x24TPI male threads. The thicker threaded spacer supplied with the threaded adapter would not fit flat.

That's odd FrankenMech i had a spacer when took them apart today with hammer and pin punch but didn't need one for the reassemble using a different size sprocket. All running but put the motor mount on the wrong side the fixed mounting bracket. Tomorrow's job.

That is just a 'little bit' of sprocket misalignment. Fabrication is so much fun I have faith you will get it right. You may need the spacer for alignment before you have it all sorted. I ruined a microwave meal last night. Warmed it up and forgot about it. Threw it out today at noon. That was a waste of $3.25. I think I will check with my barber tomorrow and see if he knows of any machine shops around.

Hah! FrankenMech, I had not put the spacer on as i was thinking it stopped the sprockets touching but it was alignment spacer for motor sprocket. Was a pain sorting it all this morning. But we are running around and hit a 10 mph with GPS on my phone. Glad you put that link up of the late Sheldon Brown I put that site on my phone now. i use to look at his site a lot for information when more involved with bicycles. My last BMX with sidecar if I sell this one will be a straight forward motor in a wheel kit not sure whether front or back but front easier. That won't happen for a while still no work with schools till March. Roll on my pension in September and won't have to worry so much about what finance i have coming in as long as have some work to do.

Any nice smoky burnouts yet? My finances have gone to shit even with my pension. Inflation and costs have finished me. It is not good to be poor, male, white, alone, and sick in the US. The metformin poisoning and strokes ate up most of my pension money before I even got to retirement age. SS is not enough to live on. My house will go next and finish me. The covid is so bad I have not even been able to see my doctor in a year.

The metformin poisoning and strokes ate up most of my pension money before I even got to retirement age. SS is not enough to live on. My house will go next and finish me. The covid is so bad I have not even been able to see my doctor in a year. .Not good. I hear many of the poor in the UK are having similar problems. Having to decide between heat and eating etc. Party man gets the blame.
I keep the house at 60-65°F, close off rooms, and just wear a hoodie or hoodies as required and try to cut food. Meds are expensive here, they were $45 yesterday. I will skip a few meals to save the money. I lost a hot meal last night when I shook and dumped it on the floor and me. Snow has cancelled today's meal but I have k-rations or something they delivered through meals on wheels here. I have my own transformer off a main power distribution line so I still have power to run the furnace and microwave (and computer) LOL If power does go out it usually isn't off long. Paying for the power is another problem. The big furnace electric bill hit my bank this month and sent me into overdraft which cost me another $30 fee. Skip more meals... I hate that auto billing but that is another way they shaft the poor. Corporations must get their $$$$/blood.
Four snow plows just went by. We got about 4" here. I am close to a city utility yard. The street gets plowed well but my drive usually stays covered until mother nature removes what she dumped. I don't walk worth a damn, especially on snow/ice. I usually get a snow drift in front of the door so I can't even open it.
Getting OLD while poor sucks.

Yes lots of people on the breadline here and they reckon the energy bills are going to increase by 50% in April. We will be informed tomorrow of the price hike by the blonde buffoon, hopefully it will be lower. We are lucky our meds are not charged for but the Hospital and health services are on their knees mainly due to lack of funding by Mr Buffoon and successive Buffoons and their buffoonery which they want to see gone. On a brighter note only a few months to wait till pension day, poor Yolanda would have retired in 2019 but a few months before they raised the retirement age for women and she has to wait till 2026. Not a happy bunny 🐰

Frankenmech, thanks for the Sheldon Brown link!! I think we might need to print his pages; with his passing, they might go away. This is the info I need!
