This is a good time to get your build sorted, post pictures and tell us what you use the scoot for,I have two, ones a commute scoot 16k of cost effective travel, one is a 30year veteran and my hobby scoot, both get different treatments but mostly TLC.

How Extreme do you want to go is the Big question ? How handy are you wrenching yourself ? What year do you have ? 2002-2005 has a adjustable stock carb and has the cat free pipe has shorter gears that give better take off but lower stock top end 2008-2011 The stock carb is not adjustable at the needle and the throttle on carb needs some dremel work the stock exhaust sucks has a catalytic converter and basically junk,Better Gears 10 % better top end once you fix the throttle.

I've built a few and helped others build up theirs
Decide if you want a minor upgrade pipe or bbk kit variator that will put you in the high 40's under 500 bucks
or sport build that will break 50mph and be very reliable pipe ,bbk ,gears, variator up to 1000 bucks
Mid Race build getting to 60 mph reliability goes down as speed goes up better pipe ,better bbk ,gears upgraded carb ,Overrange variator . More than 1000 bucks venturing into dont tell the wife land .
I have not ventured beyond here into full race land
My wife would would start to wonder if I have a Mistress with how much it would cost to maintain a full race build .

What’s your plan for the build? I’ve got one that’s decent and has gone over a few phases over the years. If you need any tips ask away lots of great people here. It’s a good platform to build up. I’m also not too far from you

Gonna follow along and see how your build comes. I've got a sport 70 build that I'm currently doing that is proven for 50 plus and runs that all day. Feel free to follow my build link. The main details are in my signature.

Lol im going into it slowly but trying to go hard at the same time lol. I started with my handle bars and did the cnc brake levers i put cnc stage 6 control switches and i got the stage 6 throttle. I got a trail tech vapor digital cluster i got a stage 6 fuel guage. And polini grips and bar guards. Then i did full suspension and wheels. (Fatty wheels) and big brake set up. And now i just got in the mail today my 70cc big bore kit and polini for race 4 pipe. Got the athena evolution 70cc with 12mm crank also. And tarimg down the motor tonight. Tomorrow ill be putting it together. For the long run i plan to build a water cooled set up.

And i have a stage6 30mm pwk mkll carb i know its alittle over kill but its a good set up. My brother has a 70cc kit with a 30mm carb and it hauls ass. Plus its a carb i had for a 75cc kit i was building previously and never got to use the carb so i just kept it for this build

I’m also not too far from you That’s awesome maybe we can link up sometime make like a meet once my scooter is back up and running. I have alot planned id like to build a 100cc 2fast set up in the future but for now i did bars upgrade wheels and suspension, that was hell cause i had to move the motor over so the rear wheel could be straight with the frame. I have ncy slammed down low front forks/shocks and the slammed low down rear coilover as well. Now im rebuilding the motor with a athena evolution 12mm 70cc big bore kit with the polini for race 4 pipe im in love i wish i could upload pics with my phone.
