There are options Top speed still maxes out because you really only have one gear . So you get to 30 plus mph real fast . The stock pipe also holds you back.
hellish has built up a razz . 2strokd also is building one up now

Is there any cylinder kits available for this? I can't really find much for it any help would be greatly appreciated It really depends on your goals. How fast do you want to get going? Do you need to take this on public streets with anything over a 35mph speed limit? Is this a project just for fun or will it actually serve as a real mode of transportation? The bummer about the razz is the single speed transmission. No matter how much power you want to make, that will be the limiting factor.

I just want it to ride around on my residential streets 25 mph in my neighborhood back and fourth to my mom and dad's house. My goal would just to be get it running correctly so looks like I should look for a engine rebuild kit?

I did another compression test tonight with throttle wide open and got 70 psi. Yeah....thats awful. I agree with the others, its amazing the thing runs at all. Comoression shoukd always be above 100psi usually around 140-160. Piston kit and rings is an easy enough job, also worth checking the Reed's, the design isnt the best and they can leak.

Hello, I’m brand new to this forum! I picked up a 1988 razz sh50 for free about a year back. I have completely disassembled the carburetor and cleaned it out with Carb cleaner (aerosol can), but it won’t start. It has spark, but the gas just doesn’t do through. Any ideas what the problem may be? Thanks! Nathaniel

Nat,that's your petcock it works by vacume off the running engine,if you have bypassed it leave it for now,try a new plug and some carb cleaner sprayed into the air filter that sometimes helps with a non starter, check the directory icon on the left of this page for a no start check list.
