Yeah I Got the parts in a box in trade . I noticed the color difference of the malossi bearing compared to the one I took off my old malossi kit . Measured them up . when I was test fitting for base gaskets and squish the piston it was tight in the barrel as I turned the flywheel and then I do a few rotations checking for binding and port timing . But 1mm is not close enough when it is at thousands of rpms

Test fired it Mettalic noise is gone So the Bearings were the problem . I reset the base gasket so port timing are close to maxed out . Getting Squish down to below 1 mm with stock head is challenging without lowering port timing.

Took it for a quick ride to rev it up . I have a slight exhaust leak . The power band is a little different then the malossi . So I will have to tune the cvt for that. It feels mildly snappier .

How did you deck the head? The sandpaper and figure 8’s on a mirror method?
I’ve done so much sanding on a mirror, I never wanna look at myself again haha. I just bought a belt sander (which I know couldn’t be used for something as precise as head decking) and a horizontal/vertical band saw and those two tools saved me probably 2 hours worth of work on the first day of ownership. Best investments I’ve made in a while.

I traded some cigars for a small machine shop to take about .4mm off of it with a lathe . To take that much off with out oversanding one corner would be hard to do right. I then cleaned it up the with some figure 8s with a piece of glass and then finished it with a scotch brite pad .

Zino was better than litte Tino

I removed a bunch of material off a head before with sandpaper and a mirror, but I don't think it was that much material. Machine shop is much better than hours of sanding. You're a cigar guy ey? I love cigars. What kind did you trade? What do you smoke? I love the more "boutiquey" stuff like Tatuaje, Illusione, and stuff like Liga, Oliva and Fuente of course. Dark, full bodied maduro and some medium bodied stuff as well.

I traded some maduros . I pick up wine and cigars when I travel. I have got alot of stuff done for just something simple like that.
2 12 pack of beer for pressing gears from one shop 1 12 pack of beer dipped pipes at radiator shop to decarbonize them . Handful of cigars for some lathe work on a cylinder head . Box a golf balls for getting one of my farmers neigbors to set the bead on my tire.
20 minute jobs or so for guys with the tools. Actually word gets around that I pay in stuff they tell me whose open for non traditional pay when I need a project done.

So much cooler when someone gives you something you can use right away rather than money and having to figure out what to spend it on haha.

when its a small quick job . Most of them dont see the point of billing or taking the work . When you ask a favor of one of the guys to just slip it in off the clock . They feel like its a bonus I am happy and so are they . I had to borrow some odds and end tools from one mechanic he wouldnt take anything . Found out his wife likes wine took her 2 bottles . Made his wife real happy . He lets me borrow anything and he has let me know of all the shops/guys that will trade out for work .
