Most of your answers you were looking for can be fleshed out in my build thread
Just remember the "first law of scooter tuning change one thing at a time "so if it runs worse you can retrace your steps .
so hear is a logical order that will teach you tuning slowly
Slap on the street pipe on your stock bore make sure you have no air leaks test with it idling by taking a gloved hand and plug the end of the pipe with a wet rag if it keeps running you have a leak if not you are good
tune the carb next do high speed runs on the same stretch of road and record each by gps work down from a jet 10% larger than you have now take the fastest jet if 2 are the same take the richer jet . next work the needle similar method start at the bottom clip work you way up take the most on off responsive throttle in the 1/4 to 3/4 range Then clean up the idle go 1/2 turn in on idle mixture screw see if it gets more responsive at the 1/4 throttle and below position if not try the the other direction to see if it is more responsive
Then dial in the cvt try stiffer clutch springs see if you like the take off better try a notch lighter weights see if you like the on off throttle response better
By doing it this way you will have learned how small changes affect the scoot and if you make a mistake with carb tuning you will not wreck you shiny new cylinder . At each step carb tuning and then cvt tuning I would run them for a couple tanks of gas so you feel and appreciate your hard works results
These base level of cvt and carb tuning will carry over quite well when you swap on a sport level bbk kit

Awesome... Thank You...
Got parts 5pm yesterday... Woke up been in garage cleaning and installing... 70 is on now... I have a few things wrong so I can't really do 1 thing at a time... My variator is pretty shot.. so gonna try 70 and variator at same time... This kit came with springs for clutch and contra... I will mess with that after I do a little testing. Kit says 3/4 throttle for 300miles... Not sure I can do that... That's like 6 weeks.. I use this for a daily driver to work until it hits the 30f's. I figure I will put around for say 2 maybe 3 tanks of gas and slowly do some blipping of full throttle. I really need full throttle to do alot of the setup... Variator and clutch wise. So will see... Going back into garage now... Gotta take advantage of the 50f/60f temps... Will be like 85f this afternoon.
Thank You... You guys are Awesome!!

what kit and pipe variator did you get ? I am a warm it up real good and ride it like I stole it Just varying rpms and speed for the 3-4 tanks of gas and progressively run at higher speeds for longer periods of time . Stop light to stop light blast off and go works real good for this or country riding going up and down between 20-40 mph

That is indeed quite a nice set. I ran a polini 70 back in the day, with a bidalot s2 racing exhaust, 2g polini clutch and a dellorto 19 and some other stuff on my booster (zuma), that thing was fun a hell

Ive been looking for temp gauge... Where exactly do I find it.... Then actually if I ran lean I could baby the scooter and still drive?
Currently I have 86 main now and went 1 step richer on the needle... To me it sounds lean... Very responsive on the throttle... Not a wheelie machine... I'm a big guy... 260lbs is not an easy task to move around. This does sound like a little 2 stroke dirt bike... Sorta pingy... Plug isn't wet but plug isn't white either... Might try the 88 main... Maybe go-to richest on the needle see what it does... I need to set up my phone with gps speed ... Goes faster that the 40mph on the speedo... All gearing is stock.

By the sound of it, it could be running lean, could be a ventilation issue. But hey, why not make a topic about this in the builds section, it’d be a decent thread imo.

Well gonna run like this now for a while... Put the 88 main in. Would rather be a little rich than a little lean. The needle is still 1 click richer. The scooter is quieter with all the plastic covers back on... Been testing with just the seat on.. was thinking maybe the plastics off it would be louder and it was. I noticed I have red Springs on my clutch with I think the stock contra... This kit came with green and like plain metal... Also a blue contra. Not sure how these will help?

If you take off with power Then your clutch springs are close enough If you roll slow for 30 feet and then pick up speed that would mean your springs are too light
If you don't have belt slip keep your stock contra Your set up can get a way with a stock contra if its not worn out When you change contra's you have to change weights Stiffer contra's need heavier weights to overcome the stiffness to get the same shift points
