Yes it likes higher rpms so that’s what I’m going to give it. Red spring higher rpm with heavier rollers to compensate and push it further. It’s all experimental but we will get it

Hey guys wanted to give everyone an update on the 103cc. Lot of tuning kinks and gearing to figure out. Coming from a quad, gearing is different and setting it up is taking longer.
For now, I’m putting the build aside for the 103 and continuing the 70cc build. I have a few tricks I’d like to try on the current setup to make it even better, faster, and safer. Stay tuned! Glad to see there is a lot of feedback on this project. I’m setting my goals high this time!

okay so the mhr malossi overrange. Going to fit and tune it into the 70cc. I’ve never had over range. It’s coming with a red spring and some lighter rollers then I’m using now. If I’m using a white spring and 33 grams now, should I match that or is the over range needing sighted heavier or lighter to travel the whole way? I guess my question is? What comes with the kit is just a basic setup and still need to use what is best for the bike?

You still have to tune the OR setup. It uses a little larger diameter torque driver cover, so standard contra springs may not fit. It may be close out of the box for a high rev setup. You may also need to play with shimming the drive boss for best results. Like any CVT setup, assemble the rear pulley and clutch with no spring and make sure there's no interference that would prevent the pulley from opening all the way.
I'd swap that MRG grease for some synthetic multi-piurpose/wheel bearing grease or Bel-Ray Assembly Lube. Some people like it. It didn't work great for me.

Looks great . I have flipped a few odometers and buried alot of needles myself . With the power you are putting on there you are probably going to spin the speedomter all the way around .
