Nice. Kinda sucks that they chose what they wanted to do over your color choice, but it looks like they did a good job with masking. Mine came back with the brake shoes coated over and then no coating in the center of the rear wheel where it indents. Now keep plenty of rags and your favorite cleaner handy. You will notice every bit of dirt on lighter colored wheels, especially after you have had them coated with an eye-catching color like that. I clean my wheels way more than ever before. They're the only part of my scoot that is actually clean sometimes.
Good work with the lathe too, and in the scrap yard. I don't think we have such a yard around where you could scavenge materials. That would be a pretty pricey chunk of aluminum ordering online.

I have been rethinking my tire size selection. I was gonna go with 120/70 on the rear and 110/70 on the front. I think I will run a 130/70 on the rear and stick with the 110/70 for the front. I got tires but I am scared as hell thinking about mounting them on the freshly coated wheels. I seem to be allergic to the task.

It was kinda scary to me after putting the money into coating, but it went fine. I say it all of the time to people worried about tire changes, but get good tools and it does change the game a bit. Not saying it's ever gonna be a fun thing to do though, and it only takes one slip to skin up a wheel. These are what I have (affiliate links) : Tire Irons/Bead Breaker : amzn.to/3a1kQJ3Rim Protectors : amzn.to/31xVvTkThat said, it's not all that expensive to get a set of tires mounted at most shops if you take the wheels and tires in off of the bike.

I have a set of irons like yours, except shorter and made of aluminium. I REALLY wish I had got the metal ones like you have. Got the rim protectors too, I'll still ***k them up somehow, same as I do with crank seals LOL! No place I have checked around here, even the Honda MC shop will not mount tires on "moped" wheels. Most usually say they won't fit on their machine. Believe me when I say I would gladly pay for someone to do it right for me.

I tried it on one tire and thought it was harder than doing it the old fashioned way, but some of our members praise it. You'd still have to make sure you don't scuff 'em up with zip ties.

I Like the look of those wheels in that color . Changing tires is my least favorite jobs . I like to leave them out in the midday sun to get them to loosen up .

Thanks for the reminder, letting them warm up really helps. I need all the help I can get. The pictures dont really do the wheels justice, they really sparkle in the sunlight.

If you have a car, or van. Put the tyres in there, it's like an oven in this weather.

Parts and supplies are slowly coming in. I tried to make a part on the mini lathe today but I over shot the dimension I was trying to achieve, twice. I should've paid more attention in math class! I also noticed the lathe is making a weird noise, like a bearing is going bad.
Some good news, my parts order with the secret cylinder finally shipped and should be here sometime this week. I can't be sure the cylinder will work out until I actually have it in my hands to do some test fitting and work with it. My fingers are crossed.
I am also thinking of upgrading the front disc and caliper to 220mm. the disc, adaptor and dual piston caliper will cost around $200 I am not sure I want to go there since there is so much I still have to pick up for this build.

I heard from ScooterSwapShop that Polini and Malossi are closed for a month(?!) because of the virus. Hopefully you got everything in stock and not on order! The 200mm rotor + 4 piston caliper seem like a great upgrade. On AliExpress you can get the Adelin stuff for a lot less. As in a lever set, rotor, caliper and braket for $130. Think about it

Think about it I closed my aliexpress account a few years ago. Its kinda stupid but they shipped me a few cheap beaded necklaces I never ordered or even looked at. Cust service was useless and said "you ordered them" So I closed it. I just ended up ordering it from Scooter-tuning.ca I paid more, but at least I can deal with them directly.

Here is a peek at the cylinder I am trying very hard to make fit these Kymco cases. Anyone want to guess what it is?

You are correct! Now for the bonus question Lucass. Do you know what motor the cylinder kit is intended to be used on?
