New spark plug ordered. Tired of screwing around with the one I have. It’s suspect. I keep dropping ignitions and I’ve messed with gapping plug wider and narrower. It’s my own fault, every damn install manual says “use a fresh plug” but I didn’t have a short extension plug (1/2”) except the used one laying on the bench from two years ago. It’s a decent plug but I suspect it’s not great anymore.
New BR9EIX coming. Until Friday fuck it. I’m tired of it dropping cycles and acting stupid. Rode tonight and round one I barely made 30mph and a round trip of 1.3 miles. Regapped plug from .040” down to a 49ccScoot website recommended .024-.028 middle of .026” and it was better but still losing ignition cycles enough to make me ride along back home cussing and swearing through my full face profanity filter.

And while I’m ranting and raving I did take a picture of the plug when I pulled it two weeks ago. I also managed to “build” my Mercedes air ride system back to 100% again. New pump and four new airbags later and $400 lighter I have a drivable luxury money pit.

Brand new plug- like a new bike. Zero problem revving and maintaining revs. Might even go to a slightly heavier slider in the CVT.
Amazing what a little Zeus does to the juice.
3733 miles (it’s easier if I keep my notes here)

New temp gauge installed also. I need to pay better attention. It’s in C°

Always ordered plugs in multiples. Always keep a supply of plugs on hand, never know when it will act up.
Gauge looks good, just have to train your mind to double the reading.
100 c is like 200 ish Fahrenheit. 150 is around 300 ish You see 200 c on the Gauge and you know that are screwed 🙂

30 mile test report First of all it’s chilly. 37° with a stiff 17-20mph breeze. Crappy riding weather but at least it’s sunny. New plug is awesome. Fixed many nagging issues. Wish I’d spent $10 sooner rather than waaaaaaaiting. Temp gauge is working. No erroneous errors like previous gauge. Numbers slowly change and I trust that versus wild fluctuations. Highest temp I saw was 110°C which is still pretty darn low in head temps. I’m thinking it’s low compared to actual but I guess that’s to be expected when running a spark plug ring where the pickup wire is at the end of a stud mounted to the spark plug ring. I also had swapped out three of the 4g sliders for 5g sliders. It’s better but I’m gonna swap out the other three to see if straight 5g is better suited to setup versus 4.5g. All in all a trouble free and enjoyable ride.

The Celsius gauge shouldn't be an issue once you're used to it. I've said it a bunch, but I never aim for any particular CHT because I've seen different setups perform well at pretty far varying gauge readings. Mostly the CHT is good for me to learn where it "likes" to be and watch to see if it stays there... so it doesn't matter if the number you know is C or F that way.
If you want a quick and dirty conversion from C to F in your head, just multiply by 2. I've seen to multiply C by 2 and then add 30 and that seems to be more accurate with lower numbers. By the time you get near 100C, it's closer to just double it.
Examples 50C = 122F vs 50Cx2 = 100F 100C = 212F vs 100Cx2 = 200F 150C = 302F vs 150Cx2 = 300F 200C = 392F vs 200Cx2 = 400F
You can see that the 100-200C range is quite close with just simply doubling. The worst you'll be off in that range is 12 degrees F.

I did install the 5g sliders now. Brought cruise rpm down some and acceleration felt ok. I did have a mix of 4/5 for a 4.5 average. I’m thinking 4.75g sliders would be ideal. The 5’s are just a shade over. (.25g? What a nit pick)

It goes well, Rob. Here's the question on everyone's mind... is part 3 the one with the wheelies?

I’ve never wheelied. No desire to. The thought scares me honestly.
