Well, my new to me (4000 miles) scooter has eaten it’s ring and scored the cylinder. It’s toasted. Now I’m looking to get a 70cc kit. The basic Naraku kit for 12mm seems cost effective. It appears is if this machine has never been apart. Mitsubishi drive belt, worn clutch, factory expansion type exhaust etc. Am I throwing money away buying a low end kit?

The Naraku is a good basic replacement for your standard cylinder. It's not as good as the Polini or Malossi. But half the price. It's a good bit better than standard.

Ok, I have parts coming. Damn Keeway parts aren’t like impossible to get but seems like if I select “CPI-Popcorn” model the parts always come back as Keeway compatible. Dunno. This is a new game for me. Anyway I have parts coming from Scooter Attack and VMC Chinese Parts. Stage 6 iron sport cylinder Clutch Small end bearing Carb Belt
Now when it all arrives (eventually) I’ll have to assemble it and see if it goes putt putt.

Is that the street race kit? You will love it. It's a great kit. I really liked mine, till it destroyed my crank! 😂 Did you order some jets to match the new carb?

Normally the clones use 6mm Dellorto type jets. What exhaust are you going to run on it?

Stock for now. I know it’ll be more restrictive than a $300 muffler but it’s just not in the budget. The stock pipe is an expansion type.
12 1/2 hours after ordering my shipment from scooter attack is in the mail. 13 hours after ordering my order from VMC is in the mail.

Your expansion pipe might not be a real expansion pipe. Some standard pipes are made to look like they are. But are no better than any other standard pipe. The street cylinder likes to rev between 9,000- 11,000 RPM. So a good pipe will really make it come alive. The street has a wide power band so will work ok till you get another pipe.

Well, that’s depressingly interesting. Sneaky Keeway-ers Perhaps I’ll post a “used pipe wanted” in the classifieds.

I couldn't believe it, the first time I was showed one of those pipes. So much effort to make that. You have to wonder why they didn't just restrict a pipe like Yasuni does?
