You will love the street race kit by Stage 6. The price is right on SA isn’t it? Just has to come from Germany. The streetrace in my Rx8 (same bike pretty much as your Keeway) is using an old Leo Vince TT with an Zx silencer. It’s matched up with a cheap PZ19mm carb which uses the same VM16 jets. 95 main 45 pilot. 4.5 gram rollers.
It rips! Even with the low end pipe on, the powerband is wide and strong. With stock clutch/yellow springs wheelies are easy. Top speed is 53.2mph. Power falls off around 9500rpm just because of the pipe I have on there, with a better pipe (S6 Pro rep, Yasuni R possibly a C16) power will still come on with this kit into the 11,000rpm range! I’m on my stock crank though and it’s just a matter of time, the lower revving pipe is what’s probably helped keep my crank/bearings alive for so long, that and a dash of 2T oil on fill ups as I’m still on oil injection. * BE SURE to bleed your pump upon reassembling if your staying oil injected.

The prices on scooter attack are in euros which is the only problem. So it does have to convert to US dollars for American purchases. I was very encouraged by the quick shipment from scooter attack at least until DHL handed the package over to the United States Postal Service in Germany in Frankfurt. That is where my cylinder kit has been sitting for five days now with no update.
The oil injection scares me slightly although it’s ease of use makes it almost mindnumbing. The cable operated oil injection how does that work? Does the throttle adjust how much oil is being in put into the engine? I did not have the pump off the engine or disconnected from the oil tank well I still have to bleed it?

I couldn't believe it, the first time I was showed one of those pipes. So much effort to make that. You have to wonder why they didn't just restrict a pipe like Yasuni does? Ok, so I may have done a thing.....

I got it running tonight. Still need to sort my air filter though. The stick air box has been “off” but attached for awhile. It no longer is pliable enough to fit over the carb horn. I’m weighing my options. I’d like a simple setup that does not share bolts with the CVT cover. Looks like 32mm is 1-1/4”. I’m gonna make a crap box of some kind that holds some filter media. I need to put the air duct shroud around the cylinder before I get carried away making “hits” in my garage holding the rear brake.
FYI: I was very impatient and bought the bargain Naraku 70cc cylinder at the same time as my Giannelli exhaust. The shipping from Germany had a 40 day maximum time on it so since I was waiting for the Stage6 kit and I was warned about the exhaust being crap I decided to give ScooterTuning some extra business. This is the first time I’ve messed with pistons and rings etc. I’d rather mess up the Naraku than the Stage 6 kit. So far so good and I’m damn excited to put it back on the road to see how it feels.

On my old scooters. I use a heat gun, or hair dryer to warm the rubber intake. It makes quite a difference. The air box one is harder to get in. So I tend to put that in first. Then take the carb and manifold off as one unit of I have to remove it.

So it took only a few days for the parts from VMC to arrive. I’ll definitely order from them again. The Scooter Attack parts in the other hand, after paying something like 45 Euros to have parts shipped it took them 16 days to arrive. Quite a long journey. Seems like they put the damn things in a cargo container instead of a plane. I’ll order parts from Scooter Attack again but ONLY if they are non-critical need parts. The Scooter Tuning parts came in three days. About the same as VMC. They’re actually closer to me than VMC but there is that pesky border to deal with.

While I’m in here posting anyway......
I did get the motor running on Tuesday evening. Wednesday evening I got the carb adjusted to the point of having the idle work ok. Idle and stalling was always an issue with the old carb. BTW, the carb I got from VMC is totally the same casting/unit as the stock carb. Comes with electric choke already installed and it plugged right in. Main jets are the 6mm Dellorto jets. I removed the stock unlabeled jet and installed a 85 to start. I have a package of slow jets coming tomorrow and I’m going to swap out the questionable size stock slowjet for a known number.
I did some riding around tonight on the Naraku engine. Feels way better than the 50cc cylinder. I installed the new clutch and that feels better. The stock clutch had 4000 miles in it. Still had paint dabs from factory where the main nut was tightened up. Auto Zone had a 38mm 1/2” drive “front wheel drive axle nut” 6 pt socket. I literally stood on the clutch while taking off the nut. I’ve watched Brent in his videos swapping them but I had no idea if the spring was gonna throw the clutch into my teeth. Now I know it’s not too too bad. The longer wider belt seems to be working well. My old belt was a 792-16.6-28° and the new one is a 798-17-28°. It fits pretty good, speed at 8krpm is 50mph on the speed-o-meter. Old belt was worn but I was running 10krpm to hit 50mph before.
I need to drill the muffler bracket to accept the fender bracket. I need to invest in all new fairing screws. #10/12 x 1” Sheet metal screws may be the ticket. Currently there are 6 different types and lengths present. I’m gonna keep the StreetRace cylinder in stock for later. It’s my first build with this Naraku so if I wreck it I’d rather it not be the Stage6 kit.

So I have the stock air box back on. I’ve played with jets working backwards from 95. I had an 85 in with a piece of cloth over intake until I got air box back on. I jumped up to 95 main jet but max rpm was only around 5k. Dropped to 90, marginally better. Back to 85, still ran crappy at WOT, dropped to 80- perfect. Revs out to 10k at an indicated 53-55 mph. So Naraku 70cc cast iron cylinder, stock crank, stock size carb but new with #80 main jet 6mm size. Gianelli Reverse exhaust.
I need to do harder clutch springs and lighter variator weights now.

The slow jets I got were not the right size for my Chinese Charb. (Yes I said Charb) the one on the right is the ones I got. Right number jet sizes wrong size needle. Oops.

captincvmn, You did a great job with the jetting. Sounds to me like you've got the jetting spot on down to a T. You're exhaust looks great and you're clutch spring & variator plans sound key.

So I was just out scooting around. Went about 25 miles or so. Cruises very nicely at 40-50 mph. I need to upgraded my brakes to new non squeaky pads. Perhaps even a new smooth front rotor. Tachometer and fuel side of the display still only work when THEY want to work, soooo irritating. Headlights are dismal. Almost as if scooting is a daytime activity.

I do wish I could post pictures here from my iPhone. I switch out to desktop mode, post, then close everything so that it’ll revert back to mobile format. Perhaps I should look to see if there is a Proboards app for iPhones. PS, now that the Charb (China carb) seems adjusted I think I’ll put the lower fairing back on.

So I’ve had plenty of brake squeal. Today I took off the brake pads from the front and LIGHTLY sanded the glazed surface of the pads. I also LIGHTY sanded the disk to remove the glaze from the disk. In the rear I took off the rear wheel (and exhaust and fender) and repeated the operation with the rear pads and inside the rim.
This is the first time I’ve had either caliper or rear whee off. I’m learning my way around the scoot.
My brake squeal is now gone, for now. Plenty of pads left. I feel a bit better knowing what the pads inside the rear whee look like.
