With an air box it will be quite. Most noise is from the carb. I run a PG short and ddx airbox, my bike is quiter than a V8 piped bike

Non-Sleeper if it's them Phongeer pipes. I'm going to use an Arrow pipe on my Dio Baja. Supposedly those are nice pipes.

Also IDK if the arrow will be much more power over the PG short. Some of the guys I ride with have those arrows but I nvr seen them going faster than PG pipes... I hope it's just cuz they didn't tune it well since the arrow is way more $$$ than a PG pipe

Sadly they aren't made anymore. Oh boy. I seen one at one of the Oahu shops. I better buy it if i see it again. It was kinda pricey.

But, your explanation makes total sense. All the Oahu guys with PG's are running wide open 28 oko's with velocity stacks (megaphones...lol). Now it all makes sense.

I hope it's just cuz they didn't tune it well since the arrow is way more $$$ than a PG pipe I saw a dyno charts from SSS and it looks like the Arrow makes more power and more torque than the PG Short. However the PG short wants to spool out further, I bet you would get a higher top speed with the PG. The part that is harder to quantify is the build quality. PG pipes have a history of breaking a baffle internally and making a terrible rattling noise. Arrow pipes are supposedly made to a much higher standard. Either way we will see, I'll test that out.

I don't know if I'd say Arrows are known for being built to a higher standard. They are notorious for the tab breaking at the silencer as well as the end of the silencer falling off.

I think it's time to cancel this order then lol It's tough because there are so few decent expansion chamber pipes available for these bikes. I've been starting to line up my resources to see what it will take to modify a vertical minarelli pipe to fit. With what they want for the Arrow and the Windjammer, I think it'd be worth the effort if I could get a Yasuni to fit.

Yup all the guys I know here with arrows have had the silencer fall off. 1 got run over so they had to buy another 1 and then the tab broke off. Yes PG pipes have a rattle but it still works. Just a little louder. The most bullet proof pipe I've seen is the V8 pipe. They are heavy as hell. Power wise not that great.

Just a little louder. The most bullet proof pipe I've seen is the V8 pipe. They are heavy as hell. Power wise not that great. Very true. The black 26mm v8 i bought has a heavy canister. Seems heavier than the jog/minarelli version. Ube, can you describe how or what happens that allows the silencer to fall off? Is it the clamp location? ...or a result of not running the large o-ring? Or is it improper clamping with the o-ring installed due to the clamp screw being so short. I noticed that the fitment of the silencer as well as the end of the stinger that sockets in to the silencer. The perforated tube in the silencer is threaded on both ends so i adjusted the position of the perforated tube by turning the end caps accordingly. This moved the perf tube toward the outlet side of the silencer. This adjustment allowed the silencer to socket onto the stinger so that the silencer butts up to the stop ring that is welded to the stinger. When it is set to that position, it allows the clamp groove to seat on the rim of the outlet cap, thus retaining the silencer. The large o-ring was installed on the opposite clamp groove. Without consciously adjusting the silencer and clamping it right, i can see how the silencer can fall off from bumps and vibration.

I reached out to RRGS about expansion chamber pipes for 72cc, but the only thing they suggested was their version of the V8. I'd love to find out how to get into custom options from either company.
