I’d ask Ruckhouse or Steady Garage. They’d either have it, or know who made it. I think The Ruck Shop had something as well.

and there goes the project. Ruined. I decided to hit all the rust with my grinder and a cup wheel and these big rust holes made themselves known. Based on their location I'm guessing the center, left and right frame rails are also totally shot. I'm no welder but this doesn't seem like something that can be repaired and made safe. I am seriously dissapointed. I think this is the end of this project.

Spoke to a welder and he said it probably couldn't be made safe. Fortunately I spoke to another guy in the Boston area who I know deals in Honda stuff and he has a frame, a good rust free one. He wants $500 for the frame, the stem and the plastics set. All as one bundle. So there goes another $500

Please do not bin the old frame,,many fab folks out there that could bring it back... That’s what I was thinking...when can a tube not be replaced? Not saying it’s easy, but where there’s a will, there’s a way and these things are worth the effort or time/money for the most part. At any rate, I’m pretty damn glad it’s going to continue on!

Please do not bin the old frame,,many fab folks out there that could bring it back... I spoke to a welder I know through work. He's the real deal, used to be a pipeline guy and now he does speciality automotive welding and exotic metals. I send him a photo and he said it's possible to fix but would be cost prohibitive. Potentially at least $500 and probably a lot more. If you guys think it could be repaired I'll have to ask around.

A small update. I'm seriously considering buying a cheap flux core mig machine and working this out on my own. I have essentially no experience welding but I'm tempted to say fuck it and go for it.
Harbor Freight sells a flux core mig gun for cheap. I'm a fast learner and I think I could work this out.

After buying all the welding equipment and gear, it might equal out the cost of having a professional get it sorted. I’m all about taking on new skills, but practicing of a structure that you’ll be ripping around on may not be the best idea. Do not toss that frame out. Someone else may want it if you don’t get it fixed yourself.

Another way would be to make the new tube splices and fit them, then have a pro welder sew it up..We repair structural tubing in aircraft all the time, there are proven procedures to use that assures the repairs will be sound..I can dig up some reference material if you are interested..

That sounds good. I'm pretty sure I could fabricate a new cross member with my grinder and a flap wheel. I would need to get the fitment really nice and I'm not sure how to properly measure and cut stuff like that. I'll watch some YouTube videos about fabrication and I'll see what comes up.

I say you get a welder and work on it yourself as much as possible. You can always take it to a welder at any point. If you mess it up, you’re not out much of a loss that wasn’t already a loss.
I, like you, have very little experience welding. This sounds like a great opportunity to learn and increase your skill-set. I’ve been wanting to learn welding for a while.
If if you mess everything up, you now have a welder, knowledge, and a rare import doorstop.
