I do have a set of Aerox forks and wheels but I really wanted to keep the originality with the drum brakes and steel wheels etc...I do like the look of the Aerox forks tho...

So did you just double up on the base gasketS? what did you do about the squish ? The shop that sold me the kit said it’s ready to run out the box regarding squish ect ect it’s not a problem if not tho how did you get round it?

So used two from another kit. With the transfer ports flush it was a fraction over 1mm squish, which worked ok. I tried running it as it came, but it wasn't as good.

  Started to get the cases cleaned up and also managed to find a new set front forks that fit the drum brake I have a new set of panels waiting to go in at a later date Love you build have only looked at the 1st page but I know it's gonna be a nice one also you are awesome for Still holding down Double-O 7 for N64 That consul had so many masterpieces in goldeneye was definitely in the top 3

I want to stick with the original air box mainly as I don’t want it to loud so hope this filter may be a bit more free flowing

Can’t do much to the engine at the mo so started messing with panels a little today, test fitting ect..

So I had a few hours free today.. bearings and crank are in and cases together I copied 90gtvert’s technique except I used a heat gun rather that the oven, worked a treat also went with 1184 in the end as seen in one of his YouTube video I liked the way it stuck to the cases all be it a little runny crank just needed a little tweak with the crank puller at the end

I guess what I’m saying is what’s the lesser of two Evils ? I realise once torqued down it will pull the barrel down more

If I were to use two base gaskets does it matter what order they go? I have 1 card 1 metal gasket

It looks like two BG will be perfect after torqueing the cylinder down. You can put spacers on the studs, then the head bolts and sung them down a bit to get a better look. I would not fully torque the nuts down without the head. I broke the cylinder one time doing that.
