the T1 VW drag racers eliminate the mechanical fan and fan shroud and run an electric squirrel cage fan for more power/better cooling. I am considering this since tall gears and a 13" wheel is going to slow stock fan rpms down. anyone ever seen this done or done it yourself?

I've never done that, but Hoca does have a high performance fan to replace the stock one, that's the one I'm using..

do you see any difference in the way its constructed? Yea, the fan is just a little bigger, the fins in the squirrel cage are smaller in general but a few of them are a little longer.. Just looking at it i think it's designed to blow more air but create less drag.

I'm doing 58 now and still tweaking it. I'm sure I can top 60 or better when i em completely finished, i can still go up to a # 95 main jet, and I still have to get heaver weights in the variator.. so I still have things to do before i have reached it's top speed.

i saw you are using a stock airbox i dont know if thats for appearances but if its tagged why worry. the exhaust is a dead giveaway anyhow. you should be able to go higher than a 95 with a uni filter.

To be honest, I don't like uni filters, too much maintenance on them. The stock airbox is a good design, keeps water and dust out, so I used it, used a piece of flex pipe from the carb to the airbox, and drilled a couple of holes in the bottom of the airbox cover. I can control my A/F this way. Tagging it is in process...

it will be interesting to see how this motor is geared being a 50cc with a 13" wheel. a 50cc has a hard enough time turning a 10" rim size has nothing to do with it it will be the over all tire size a 130/90 10 130/70 12 and 130/60 13 are all the same size (well give or take a bit from one brand to the other becuase of thread)

most digital dashboards wi display both... might be worth asking the seller of try find a user manual for it online.... like its probably a setting or something that you can select.

I was thinking the same, but then I don't see any indication that the display could change to miles... like you notice with the other digits that can change.
