This sounds really cool. I'm gonna check this out. If you ride in, be sure you will be fresh, or arrive a day early.

The Dragon is nothing like it used to be (~20 years ago or so). It's gotten so well known that it seems everyone goes there now. It's impossible to do an all-out run without getting behind traffic anymore. I suppose for scooters it's less of a problem. However, there are a lot of other fun roads in that region, and the Dragon has basically turned into the central mecca of it all. I actually really love the area so much that it drives life decisions. Dunno if I will be down there for the crawl, but would likely have the 'fast' bike if I am.

Lol all jokes aside, i'm still exploring a whole mess of smoky mountain and appalachian roads these days. You arent wrong, the dragon is a crowded drive, but it's awesome watching -all- manner of vehicles driving through. Exotics, rats, tuners, and custom junk heaps. I could spend all my weekends out there taking it in!

Man! That looks like a damn good time. Used to spend summers around Nantahala and Bryson City. Such a beautiful area, especially in the late spring time when the mountain laurel are blooming.
