how do you even connect that to the engine so it knows RPM?

how do you even connect that to the engine so it knows RPM? you wrap the end of the wire from the RPM gauge around the sparkplug wire. that then will read the RPM of the motor (you many also have to switch it to a 2 stroke motor in the settings, idle should be around 1500ish)

Nice to see your build thread up and running :)the tacho has a wire that you just wrap around the spark plug wire secured by tape, just works OK,try asking for 3/8 fuel pipe with a 1/4 inner diameter and take piece of your old one to match up in the shop.

Contra Spring You might not need a stiffer contra at all unless yours is tired . You just want a stiff enough contra to stop belt slip on a street build any stiffer you get extra wear and tear on your belt . Now for race builds you swap belts and parts between races so who cares about extra wear and tear. Racers go with stiffer contra's so that you down shift quicker so you come out of corners in low gear. Clutch Springs You might like stiffer ones better especially if your stock ones are tired you will start Higher in the pipes power band so will take off with more power . I can see a yellow contra spring. atm its revs real high at slow speeds. like there isnt a 2nd gear. i tried 3.5g tuning rollers which was way to high rpm, i have 5.5g tuning roller weights in it now, from the sound, really high rpm. I am going to try 6g. maybe even 6.5g after 6g. we'll see how it pans out tomorrow. I lost patience and got irritated pulling a CVT cover off and variator. That is really light for stock weights Rpms with power is what your looking for . This is not that finicky a pipe you should find weights up to a full gram apart that will work well .

If you go to an auto shop for anything scoot related don't,t tell them right off it,s for a scoot and leave any "attitude" in the car park,it,s just the way it is.

I upped the jet from 77.2 to an 80. drop 6.5 gram tuning rollers in it, its a beast of a day for the wind. 17 w mph.
held against the wind at 40 mph
scooter kept kind of bogging off take off so I think I fixed it by moving the pin clip in the carburetor to the middle notch not n upping the jet to #80. not sure if that helped or coincidence but take off is slow still.
son of a gun gots a power band like no other.

I went to every all the auto parts stores in lawn mower shops by me and they don't carry nothing that resembles 1/4 id & 3/8 od. I'm out hold up on the gas signs until I get this thing tuned Once i went to a hobby store that sells remote controlled planes/boats/cars. The sell fuel lines for nitro rc models. Fortunately they had 2 sizes of yellow Tygon hose that was specifically meant for gasoline. R/c model shops might have the tubing you are looking for.

I'll see how fast it'll go on 6.5G with the number 80 jet.

The joy and pain of roller weight tuning.
When i got into CVT tuning, i ended up buying a full array of Motoforce roller weight sets. Motoforce weights go in 0.25 gram increments. Basically i have roller sets that go from 3 grams per roller up to 6.5 grams. These are individual sets that go from 3, 3.3, 3.5, 3.7, 4, 4.3, 4.5, etc.
With roller sets like that, you can fully dial-in the variator.

I believe I am on track. getting a feel for it getting a hang of it. i fel that 80 had to be lifted from 77.5. to 80.
sucker as a power band
I think I need to lower the contra spring to a 500 RPM for better takeoff would that be the correct way to state it?
or dropping it from 6.5g to 6g have better take off?
waiting on a unbreasy day to take a straight shot how fast I could go on 6.5G.

Sweet ride.
Please document this model of scooter with more photos! As far as I know this is a rare model, it would be great to build up a knowledge base here on the forum of oddball scooters.

Primary role of each part of cvt Take off is clutch springs for starting in bottom end of power band Contra strength is for preventing belt slip Weights are for targeting the power band
That is a fun pipe Take which ever feels best 6 or 6.5 gram and gives you best Top Speed
