125 is fine, you have to have the scoot complete, wait until you have the air filter assy fitted you may have unused fuel in the crank case, pull the reed cage/valve check it seals and the crankcase is clear. Is it a good strong spark? Geoff I know I'm just so excited to get it running again . For the reed valve do you just pour some gas into it and make sure none leaks out? From what I can tell the spark is good, it doesn't make one large arc sometimes, a few smaller arcs but i could just be the piece of metal I'm touching the top of the spark plug to.

I have been able to get those motors running with as little as 90psi. Another thing to check is if maybe the exhaust is plugged. I've had oil run into the pipe on these from leaky seals on the oil pump and wouldn't start until I pulled it off and dumped it out. I'll be sure to check that too if it doesn't start with the air filter in. Do you just pull of the exhaust system and flush it out somehow?

Sometimes you may just be able to pour the excess oil out if that is what is clogging it. Other times I have had to swap to another pipe. You can try and start it with the pipe off, but don't run it longer than you need to to see if it will run.

Have you checked the pressure activated petcock? Remove the fuel line and suck on the pressure line and see if fuel flows out. They can go bad. So I just unplugged the fuel line from the carb and tried turning the engine over, and no fuel came out. However, if I pull the vacuum line as well and suck on it, fuel will then come out of the fuel line. Does this mean my petcock is not working correct or the engine isn't pulling enough vacuum (or at all)?

Your OK with the petcock that's what should happen, your spark is iffy buy a new coil and plug just to cross it off the list of suspects.

Cross that off the list then. All I know to do right now is wait for the new air filter to come in and try it out with it installed.

While you wait, make sure you have work boots and easy start on hand they can be hard to start at first and need a good few kicks to purge and prime the systems.

This scooter may have a lot of miles on it. Someone please confirm this odometer reading for me. Does this thing have 30k or 3k miles on it? Not sure if the number in white is miles or 10th of a mile.

3000 miles you might still have stock tires on there with that low of miles. After you get this started remember to put in storage with a couple ounces of sea foam in the gas

How much air should be coming out of the exhaust when I try to kick this thing over? Had my girlfriend hold her hand by the exhaust while I kicked it over and she said she could feel just a little bit of air coming out.

The amount of air that comes out is not alot per revouloution of the crank it is about the size of a dixie cup pushed through a straw. So she should feel a sharp puff.
