There,s a least two dio builds in this section on page 5 Honda dio,on page 10 my super dio,not much help but a look at what you could do,with$$$ and passion.

The bike the OP has is not dio 2 it is a dio 3 af34/35 with a horizontal motor this pic wont help him.

I checked everything according to some manual I found online + the jpg that was attached to this thread. There's no battery anywhere near the fuel tank. There is only some little square with cables that says 12V on it, that's not the battery or is it?
My friend has a similar Honda DIO, I guess I'll ask if i can unscrew his and see where the battery is.

The bike the OP has is not dio 2 it is a dio 3 af34/35 with a horizontal motor this pic wont help him. Is it? How do you know? I know that this scooter is a Honda Dio from Year 1997 and Japan. Half an hour of googling told me that its a Dio FIT AF27 1997

EBay listings show a fairly typical scoot battery for the dio 4 1/2 x 2 1/2 x 3 1/2 here's a similar one on my Yamaha jog The zippo lighter is just for size comparison. Geoff

Geoff It seems like my dio doesn't have that battery, checked everywhere around the fuel tank and it's not there. There is some empty space under the fuel tank with red and green wires hanging.

I had a super dio AF28, which I recently sold. The pics u posted in ur original post are not an AF28 or AF27.
